We didn't play badly at preston
It wasnā€™t good was it evo Iā€™m sorry, we were poor

we had a decent 5 minute spell in the first half of decent possession to be fair

other than that itā€™s just Centre backs passing it around with no idea how to move up the pitch

Are you in the ā€œget ridā€ or ā€œkeep himā€ side of things? Itā€™s a genuine question by the way, Iā€™ve no idea in amongst all the anger & ranting and Iā€™m interested to know.
I am in the keep him side at the moment. Itā€™s getting harder to defend though I do really think MR just needs time away from this for a little while. His mind understandably is elsewhere.

Hard disagree there, we were getting carved open in both halves. Swansea we looked nothing like scoring and gifted embarrassing amounts of territory because neither BTA nor Wright knew what they were doing.

The xG doesnā€™t lie but a closer look shows a lot of that is the accumulation of low xG efforts on goal. By and large we do not create many clear cut chances. Only games we really did were Oxford and Watford.
The season total XG still has us 9th ? We are underperforming infront of goal , that's hard to argue against

Saying predictable pre plannedsubs just makes no sense at all ..

Not many teams change system every match halfway through ,like I said its FM talk

Many teams react to whats going on on the pitch.

Even Preston changed shape against us once they were winning.

Err , I was there and felt that we played quite well especially second half , we definitely didn't deserve to lose the match , it's a tough place to go they've lost 2 games in the last 9

I disagree with you, he's built more than one team here and it's worked best when he's been pragmatic. It feels like the recruitment at the moment is too heavily weighted on potential sell on fees to the detriment of team building.

Agree with you somewhat on the recruitment. CM was desperately needed even if it was a loan or free.

I just think the championship is a different beast. 22/23 exemplified his strengths as a manager I think, well drilled side playing a pretty conservative brand of football, getting the most out of some players who probably shouldnā€™t have got to that level and dealing with off field stuff.

Iā€™m not sure that is actually a reliable tactic to get promoted. I think we need a more attacking or possession based brand of football. Robins has never really successfully done it. Last year we tried to play more possession in the 532, didnā€™t work.

He also canā€™t seem to achieve the same results we were getting early in the new year with arguably a better squad.

But you literally moan about our subs every single game without fail , you are literally the only person I know that does this .

Alot of the time when you ask for changes the game doesn't need them

Thatā€™s your opinion and more than entitled to it

I just feel we need to just go more direct pragmatic style and play quicker up to 2 strikers, possession based football hasnā€™t suited us in this league

weā€™re not a good enough team to do it at present

On the rare occasions we make clear chances, sure. But our general play sees us not creating much full stop. Itā€™s too slow for the most part.

Yesterday we hit them on the break many times then were either indecisive or hasty so just gave possession right back. Tells me that we should stick to that way of playing and now weā€™re one of the shit performing teams, the opposition might come onto us more often.

Simms can't hold a ball up to save his life though , go direct and what ? Have it come back all game

Well it's not as rare as you make out , we missed 2 clear chances Saturday

No, play long and turn defences using the pace and power of Wright and Asante, or sit deep and play in transition

simms wouldnā€™t start for me

weā€™ve always played better as a counter attacking side in this league

Because 9/10 times they are pathetic and can't even use the "We don't have anybody on the bench" excuse any more.

He will watch a striker up front on his own getting fuck all service and then just swap the player who is on his own up front getting fuck all service.

well Iā€™m pretty sure thatā€™s what is being debated hereā€¦..

but one thing is for sure the form we have been showing for most of this year would indicate there needs to be something drastic to turn it round

Not sure a result in January has anything to do with October but do go off

we did if youā€™re quoting and relying on stats

you canā€™t use them only when it suits Evo, thatā€™s not how it works

Right but most clubs stick to their system and bring on fresh legs in areas needed ? Coventry don't play a rigid system most matches anyway we often go in and out of a couple of systems in and out of possession

Sure they slightly edged the game but they were the home side and my argument is we had a perfectly decent goal chalked so we didn't deserve the loss .

It was a tight game , we done enough to get something

Think you're missing parts of matches mate
Evidently weā€™re looking at the same performances and reaching different conclusions. I thought we were awful against Swansea and Sheff W, and were poor yesterday too.

Point is thereā€™s a lot going wrong in nearly every part of the pitch. Yesterday was a bit better but against very poor opposition. Against actually decent teams it will be embarrassing.

We just swap the left back or wingers when the system hasn't worked all game so we are left with the same thing not working but different players.

Same when we had Asante at RW and then MVE and we had exactly the same issues.

I might be wrong but haven't a lot of our turnarounds been when Robins hand is forced into changing things?

How are fans calling preston poor , they've lost 2 of their last 9 matches in all comps and have taken points off Burnley, Luton Watford and boro , they are not poor it's quite infuriating
