"we won't keep playing like this" we had one against Blackburn followed it up with 1 point in 3 games against mediocre opposition there is no "normal" in football ."we normally do better against the better sides" myth the 7 side that finished above us last year W4 L8 D2 if my counts right.
wev’e started the last 3 seasons poorly, everyone needs to just calm down a bit, 35 games left, 100 % we turn it around, I’d take another draw Saturday,1 step at a time,

I personally think Robins has so much credit in the bank with fans, the majority would back him even if we were relegated. That's largely an emotional decision.
Doug has a business decision. Relegation will be hugely damaging to the club. Can he oversee that without trying a new manager?
I don’t think so. It was unthinkable at Wembley last year that any City fan wanted Robins gone, now 1/3rd seem to. If we are bottom 3 end Of Nov that will be over 50%, End of Dec it will be 70% + …..

No such thing as a job for life. Nor would Robins expect there to be.

It is brilliant that we now accept starting the season like a sack of shit as normal, mind the way we ended last season was also like a sack of shit. Hopefully, the middle of the season will be astounding.

You didn't mention the outstanding miss 3 yards from goal. Hadji-esque
He got the assist for that bit of fancy footwork 😂😂😂

As they say when your buying stocks and shares previous performance is no guarantee future profits.Wish I had your "100%" thoughts.
Just a thought where do you think we will finish?

I don't think you can really include cup games, they are completely different to league games.

Why not?

My post was in reply to comments about whether or not we perform better against top teams. We only get to play the best teams (Premiership clubs) in cup matches.

If Robins gets the sack there will be numerous other clubs trying to sign him up.

Robins slaughtered simms and dovin, whilst he was right you can’t do that in the media, I think he knows he’s getting the boot

robins clearly has stuff going on and isn’t committed like he was, he probably fell out with viveash and it’s fallen apart

I think king will give the job to George
There nothing whatsoever to suggest he’d get the job. It’s a rumour that started on here based on nothing.

I was thinking that our leader would evaluate why and make sure we would make a positive start to this season. This season we have not yet played the teams most likely and the end of last season was concerning. Making the same mistakes repeatedly is a big concern.

It might be Robins can’t work in this culture and Doug finds someone who can?
Well there could well be something in this.

Robins has been at his best when we’ve had no resources, not even a ground, let alone a large amount of back room staff. It may well be he knows the new culture and environment is the way modern successful teams are structured, but it’s not a structure he can thrive in. If this was the case then a replacement who embraces this might do wonders.
However, as this is all conjecture I remain Robins IN for now.

We were underdogs against Leeds away this season. "Free hit" people said.

People saw us as dark horses for a top 6 finish, no one had us down as red hot favourites.

Good news is now we're bottom 3 we will be underdogs in every game.
This is one group of players where saying ‘we’ve got 35 cup finals now boys’ might actually work.

This forum has pretty much always been the same. We're either world beaters or relegation fodder. There are no shades of grey.

Problem is there isn't much grey about the current situation. I wouldn't regard us as relegation fodder but it's fair to say that the situation is becoming more concerning with the passing of each game and the fixture run coming up doesn't exactly inspire huge optimism. We are in a scrap that's for sure and something has to change quickly in terms of form or management. It remains to be seen which way things go.

We will never have another manager who has pushed this club forward and brought us so much to cheer about than Mark Robins.

It's my birthday on Monday. My first game was on my birthday in 1972. In those 52 years I've seen plenty of lows and a few highs (87). The majority of it was pretty lean though.

In the last 7 years I've not known such tremendous continued success (however you gauge that) and progression than under Mark Robins. He "gets" Coventry City. He's experienced our worst. He's brought us the best.

If King pulls the trigger and sacks MR then I can't see things getting better any sooner than if he'd backed him.

Some fans should be mindful of what they wish for.

To put this into context against the top half last season I believe this was our points tally

I don’t disagree.

to play devils advocate though you can have a successful manager plateau and need a different calibre again to make the next step.

Brighton did well under Potter but are better without him. Bournemouth did well under Howe but better without him. Cooper over achieved at Forest but they are better without him.

England did well under Southgate but we would all have swapped him tor Pep or Jurgen in a heart beat.

Robins deserves longer to turn this around and I think he might well still do that but if he doesn’t then it’s all about the quality of the person we bring in.

Much better fight and passion today from the players.

Rudoni played really well and was a good change I think, not sure he can play there full time but in that game he made a difference getting down the pitch.

Reserving judgement until Christmas :)

Yep, Robins has definitely earned the right to be given more time to change our fortunes.

We do need to stop keep having these awful starts to seasons though. Needs addressing as a matter of urgency.

He's great in possession, poor when we don't have the ball.....if that gets sorted he'll be a cracking player for us
