Ok then. McDonald is just struggling to score from open play too. I thought he's done alright when I've seen him play. He was back defending with him team mates and getting stuck in. We know he can do it with the goals he got last season.
I'm certainly not going to judge him on seven games or whatever. He's needs a good run in the side.
And anyway, we might not have too much of a choice soon.
We've obviously been watching an entirely different Cody McDonald. The bloke I saw certainly didn't track back or get stuck in: he was wandering around at walking pace with his hands on his hips. He made Gary McSheffrey look like David Batty. His first touch in the most recent games has been utterly terrible-his first touch against Southampton bounced about 3 feet away from him, and his head dropped from that moment on.
The point is-Lukas contributes a lot more than just goals. A huge part of King's effectiveness last season was due to the graft, strenght and support Lukas offered to him. When he's not scoring-and 1 goal in 9 hours is hardly prolific-Cody contributes nothing else. He doesn't have touch or creativity, his decision making looks to be that of a player lacking the basics in the game. Like a guy from nonleague without coaching in the full-time game. Which is what he is.
Everyone bangs on about L2 as if it is the same level as us..just remember that Roy O'Donovan was just as prolific at a division above it. With that, I rest my case.
