To those who want Robins gone now (3 Viewers)

People can throw around numbers if they like but the reality is that I didn't think we were going to compete at the top this season because we bought Binks, some guy that got relegated with Huddersfield, some guy with a few goals for Peterborough, etc, etc... I, and I think most other people, thought we would compete at the top because of Robins.

If Robins had left over the summer and we'd appointed any of the names I've seen thrown around of late, yeah I would still hope for top 6 and maybe it would have clicked for him. But in all my years as a fan Robins is the only manager that has achieved anything of note and our expectations are linked to him. We believe we can compete with teams with far bigger budgets because - Robins.

We are going through a bad patch at the moment but our current manager is pretty much the only man I would back to turn it around. Sack him and get the next appointment wrong - the glory days are over. The money is gone, the fans drift away and we are all looking over our shoulder once more.

Bizarre amount of “I don’t want Robins gone but we should debate it”. If you don’t want him gone what’s the debate?
I don’t want him gone but I can understand why others might, because results have been awful. You said to even have the debate was ridiculous, it’s not.

I'm not Robins out (yet) but it's so frustrating seeing our tactics not evolve and our best squad in decades looking like they have no idea how they're meant to press and play.

He deserves time to turn things around this season. But if we get to the end of the season still in the bottom half and still being cut apart by any team who can string 5 passes together then we need to move on.

Absolutely spot on

The second half at Preston was where we switched from wing backs to 4 at the back. Obviously wasn't a good result but a better performance, I think the Millwall game was the following one?
weve got the same players, bar ohare that turned things around last season, think it’s just formation more than players not being good enough, even as short as we are in midfield, sheaf, torp, Eccles and rudoni is more than enough, we’ll get there,we always do, just frustrating

People saying “it’s not been as bad as it is now”, “players fighting” etc etc have incredibly short memories. There has been times in the early parts of the previous 2 seasons where things have been on the edge of becoming toxic, just like now.

Robins is the man. And I have every confidence he turns this round, as he always does.

Numerous threads discussing Robins’ future. It’s ridiculous that it’s even a debate.
If we’re fighting relegation in March/April, then fair enough, the mob will be right… we’ve had 9 games this season and our record is 3-2-4. It’s not quite a disaster yet.

The league is obviously not going to plan, 9 points is playoff pace after 6 games which is turning two draws into 2 wins.

We haven't been smashed by anyone yet and apart from Haji Wright on Saturday, nobody has downed tools either. Something clearly isn't right though and hasn't been for a while.
A hiding on Saturday though and I'll start to fear for Robins. The Blackburn game could be vile.

Yes , the way and recent regularity of how we concede at home since McFadz left is alarming.

Vile ? What's Leicester got to do with it ??

What would hurt the most is seeing him managing against us as he would be snapped up straight away

The more I think about our current situation the more I think that Robins deserves the rest of the season (provided he wants it and we’re not genuinely in a relegation battle) and if we don’t finish fighting around the play-offs area of the table then maybe it’s just time to move on from Robins.

So much has changed since we got promoted from league 1, something’s clearly not right behind the scenes and I think the lack of play style and adaptability maybe means Robins has took us as far as he can. I don’t say that with ease but we’ve genuinely been lacking in all areas for so long I just think how many seasons are we going to waste just trying the same thing with the same manager over and over again?

Maybe things will turn around but if by the end of the season we’re scrapping for 14th place then maybe a new manager is what we’ll need 🤷🏻‍♂️

so you think he’s taken us as far as he can, but you’d happily write off an entire season just to make sure.

properly weird take.

I think he’s taken us as far as he can but I’m not certain, hence why I’d be willing to give him more time and not write him off after a handful of games. Let’s say we gave him until Christmas and then he was sacked, what are we going to do with the remaining half of the season? Are we going to get promoted? Highly unlikely if Robins has been sacked due to poor results, so I don’t see the point in sacking Robins prematurely.

Either this season picks up very rapidly and we stick with Robins or we get a new manager at some point and start fresh next season.

who would you go for? Knowing you I guess you think we should make an approach for Arteta, or Ancelotti perhaps

I would stick with him for now but if things do not improve by Christmas then give a new manager a Jan transfer window to turn it around. We do not want to make the mistake that got us relegated from the top-flight for the first time in 34 years when we stuck with Gordon Strachan

you‘d think we’re getting battered 4-0 every week, with the same defence as last season we were always going to leak a few goals, we’ve missed some absolute sitters in a few games, Norwich Watford and spurs should have been game over at half time, that’s not robins fault, need to start finishing better, that’s all

But not with fatigued players, I get the feeling the games gone as we remember things.
To something more akin to the law of averages, where we get a more average display populated by moment's of excitement but not necessarily brilliance!

Someone asked me Saturday what our playing style was, I’m not sure, I’d of said start of the season with all the players with a bit of pace we’ve brought, exciting counter attacking, I don’t think we’re either ATM ?

Robins needs to override all these new coaches and get back to being the man in charge and laying down the law.
Surely the performance director should take responsibility for poor performances and the sleep coach has got them taking afternoon naps, which is why we don’t wake up and start playing until halftime ( maybe )

Spot on.

Hes got to do it on his own terms. Pick HIS team, HIS players he knows he can't trust and are with him and make sure the message/plans are crystal clear and see where we are in next 4/5 games. If that means tossing off certain players also, then so be it - his job is on the line I suspect now and deserves better than falling on his sword because some players downed tools.

At least then he knows he's done it on his terms rather than mixed messages.

Our style of play seems to currently be with 4 at the back and with only 4 recognised centre backs and 3 recognised full backs in the squad we are stuck with 4 at the back, despite not having what seems to be able enough personnel to carry it off. Changing to 5 at the back stretches our available resources too thinly. We therefore seem to have to persevere

Well, 12% of respondents to the poll say they do want him gone, so like it or not there clearly is a debate to be had.
Hold on there 12% want him gone and you want a debate.
I would say with an overwhelming majority of 88% wanting him to stay, the debate is over.
This thread should never have started 6 games into the season.
And anyway, last time I looked it was 89.6%
