Id have Mowbray, would be better than Id have expected us to get. Would need a budget though wouldn't he?

He has the experience......he knows all about football, and in my opinion, he would be ideal. Someone who would command respect, even from sisu I think....it's that gravitas thing!

I wouldn't mind Tony Mowbray managing our club. Would bring out the best from our players. Nigel Adkins will be my 1st choice though.

Both worked with money.

Adkins worked wonders at Southampton in this league......assisted by the £1m signing of Rickie Lambert. Would love to see him here, but not much chance IMO.

As for Mowbray, think I'd have taken him a couple of years ago, but not so sure now. That said he's a better choice than some of the other names that's been mentioned

Adkins would be ideal I think. As for Mowbray he was the one sacked because he couldn't buy a win, always draws or narrow defeats which ultimately cost him his job. The negativity of the man and his methods would make us believe SP was a delight!

I do believe we need a 'name' and a guy with some proper credentials and knowledge of these lower leagues. Adkins is out of work still smarting and keen to get back make no mistake. Could he do it again AKA Southampton?

Neil Warnock does not need the money but loves the game still and the challenges. I don't think it's unrealistic. Harry Redknap would be unrealistic..

Would love to see either of them here but i think we will very very lucky to get Adkins but Mowbray would be ideal.

No thanks to Mowbray getting sick of ex professional defenders managing our club, about time we appointed another ex proffesional forward as our 2 most successful managers of recent times Robins and Dowie were. Would love to see a bit of Dutch flair at the club and have them appoint Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink

If fans didn't like SP style then TM is not the answer,, very negative coach him and Mark Venus in tow might get instant impact but soon as the effect has worn off it will be back to watching a SP team....

Not sure on Adkins either, he had probably the best league 1 side ever in history and finished 2nd.

Lambert, Lallana, Oxlade-chamberlain, Schneiderlin, Fonte, Puncheon all in league 1

didn't they start with a points deduction though? Also went straight through champ the following season andthe names you mention were very young and inexperienced - I guess bright through from the youth team by him too which also shows he can pick a player, give youth a chance and develop players.

No they finished 7th the year they had points deduction, started level the year they were promoted.

All the players were established in the team I think apart from maybe Oxlade who was on the fringe

Incredible achievement no doubt getting back to back promotions but again had a superb team in the championship, I'm not saying he would be a bad choice but I'm not sold on him being a brilliant manager based off his time at Southampton.

Did well at Scunthorpe with limited budget.

Back to back promotions wasn't it? And did well at Scunthorpe. Not my first choice but I think he's a very good manager

Second largest wage bill in the championship the season they got promoted (£29m) approx x3 our entire turnover.

I'm sure they did. And he probably had a very low budget at Scunthorpe. So he's shown he can work under both conditions.

This article makes Mowbray sound like the man for the job. Granted this is a romanticised passage written by a Boro fan about a former hero, but you can't deny this sort of manager would be an excellent fit for us and continue the good work that SP started.

The article refers to "Mobray's high flying WBA". Can't remember the last time we were referred to as "high flying"! One day eh?

think some people need to remember we are in the relegation zone in divission 3 - without a pot to piss in

a manager of Mowbrays experience would be a boon
