I have my doubts many if any championship clubs will be dishing out new contracts north of £25k a week perhaps apart from the relegated ones armed with their parachute money. A lot of clubs are saddled with high earners they would love off their books. Will be interesting to know what those on new contracts get, I reckon £10k a week at most. With the average wage north of 25k a week for an average championship player, I’m not sure we can replace the likes of Kelly, Allen, Shipley and Jones for the same money. We will need major investment to improve the squad. We’re an established Championship team and players coming will be expected to be paid as such. Even signing top league 1 players will expect 8-10k a week and will be unproven at this level. So it will be taking a punt on kids with promise and hope 1 or 2 of 5 or 6 we sign excel. If and when we sell one of the Crown Jewels we need 50% as a minimum of the transfer fee to be reinvested back into the team and not the old chestnut of “It’s covering losses”
Todd Cantwell anyone?
Thought he was a good player for Norwich in their promotion season can’t really understand how he has seemingly failed at Bournemouth.Todd Cantwell anyone?
Todd Cantwell anyone?
A year ago id have laughed at that suggestion
Now, i think hes in reach
I think he would certainly suit our style of play.I’d snap him up in a heartbeat. I don’t care he’s going through a Deli Ali bad patch but fuck me that kid can play. Watched him against us a few years back and he ripped us limb from limb, nobody could get close to him

Bad luck thenNorwich took the option of extending his contract a couple of weeks ago, I guess they would want a big fee for him.

It’s not happened for him at Bournemouth and I believe Norwich want shot of him. Maybe a swap deal and cash if they wanted one of ours?Norwich took the option of extending his contract a couple of weeks ago, I guess they would want a big fee for him.

That's what I've heardHave Shrewsbury come back in for him?
Yes should beHopefully JCS is back. We look better with him in there.
I think he could start tomorrow but with Sheaf injured and Hamer close to ban and not risk getting injured so can’t see him playing , not much choice after thatHe's out of contract so pretty sure he'll be going.
Allen and Eccles maybe?I think he could start tomorrow but with Sheaf injured and Hamer close to ban and not risk getting injured so can’t see him playing , not much choice after that
Depends if we’re selling Hamer. Let him get booked if we’re selling.I think he could start tomorrow but with Sheaf injured and Hamer close to ban and not risk getting injured so can’t see him playing , not much choice after that
The risk if he gets injuredDepends if we’re selling Hamer. Let him get booked if we’re selling.
