Rumours on Facebook gyokeres is leaving next week.
Any truth in this???

Personally, I'd have more belief in the rumour if our own BD or SBB announced it. While Facebook may have ITKs, the majority of chat there is just keyboard warriors trying to one-up or troll each other. You know, like SBT on one of its down days ;)

Would not be shocked at him leaving or shocked people making him a transfer story. You dont need to be Sherlock Holmes to guess it could happen. If the money is right he goes, no matter what story comes out.

What i have noticed all is very quiet at the club, not sure if its good or a bad thing. Lets see what Saturday brings but i get a feeling players and staff are no enjoying this period, feels like we have been left on the start line of a race.

I didn't say he wouldn't be good enough, I simply said he's never kicked a ball at any league level therefore risky. Obviously hope it works out and he's another Trent but judging by what people who have seen him say , he's more Terence Trent
Hope he's a better defender than TTA ;)

I agree with that on keyboard warriors

this person does know gyokeres though on a more personal level than us the average fan - I know this

so not sure if there’s more to it

Just need a win asap

Results shape everything from my perspective

if we’re winning games- all problems involving the club get forgotten

problem is if we lose it just gets heightened

obviosky referring to a sustained period of results

After last season a little bit of ambition this summer and we could have really kicked on but instead we have signed kids on loan and a Bristol city reserve and probably losing our main man

Tough isn’t it pal

Just when you thought we were going to kick on

it’s genuinely sad mate

It’s fine though because it’s our ‘model’And we signed Conor Chaplin 2 years ago.

sisu out

Very tough the odds of 8/1 for us to be relegated could be a big price considering how things have gone this summer

Well in January it was clear that 1 or 2 well placed signings could have put us in serious contention for a top 6 spot, as it was we spent our remaining chips on Bidwell, turned down a 6 figure sum for Shipley who only played a handful of times after etc. We're talking a few million more a season, not Derby proportions at all.

Robins can only rework that same Chanel dress so many times before we get rumbled

Careful with that kind of talk on here!

Alternatively, we thought Bidwell was that well placed signing, as was keeping Shipley... so why would signing someone else necessarily have pumped us into top six? We could, in this parallel universe, have signed 2022's Carbonari and Trollope, and been in even more serious financial dregs than we are now.

Would Palmer in January really have been the difference between promotion and not?

Depressing tones on here are OTT.

As it stands nobody has gone. Palmer will be a good addition, but granted it’s embarrassing he’s not fit.

Panzo is still early days but certainly reasons to be hopeful that he’s better than a very average JCS.

Maatsen is a loss but maybe there’s signs Bidwell is finding form.

We are weak depth wise in midfield, but equally we have Kelly and COH out, Palmer not fit and Hamer suspended. Most squads would struggle if four of their first team midfielders were out. It’s also been exacerbated by Eccles poor start to the season.

Saying all that, if we lost Gyokeres I would be fearing a tough season ahead (still not relegation fears though). Unless of course he went for silly money and we got to reinvest it.

We need money from somewhere, so we’re likely to sell before the window closes - losing either him or CoH would be a major, major blow.

Shipley’s bags were packed, then he did ok against Peterborough, scored against QPR and Robins suddenly changed his mind. To sign Bidwell we had to do a lot of shuffling around-extra funds weren’t put in to sign him.

It just comes back to having owners who are really a busted flush at this level and either aren’t able or aren’t willing to speculate to accumulate.

Makes me think it is just trolling
Surely this rumour isn’t from the guy on FB who is originally from Barnet, who plays rugby and who plays said rugby at Broadstreet?

Nope, nothing from those demographics would give any sort of clue as to why he would be trolling Coventry football fans on their forum.

Luke Plange apparently heading to a Belgian team on loan

Suspected if Gyökeres gets offloaded he'd have been a prime target as replacement.

Molenbeek (as well as being one of the biggest ghettos in Europe) is a second division Belgian club. The standard there is shite. It doesn't fill me with any confidence if someone going there was a prime target!

But this is the point. People were licking their lips so much at the prospect of making a senior signing that they were ignoring the question marks. In some cases others were shot down outright for questioning his appearance record. It wasn't just last season, it's been most of his career.

The idea that he is going to be an epiphany for us, whilst not impossible, is still a lightyear away at the moment. There's certainly a chance our coaching staff can get something out of him, but I don't think people realise it will take a complete career u-turn for him to provide a consistent positive contribution to us.

Playing Devil's Advocate, WHO would have made the difference in January, cos there didn't seem an awful lot of much better players available?
