Very wise manLook, based on the past 30 years, King will be a shit owner, but lets at least give him a chance to prove that first.

Ok so are you saying that we won't sign anyone before the end of the month? If so would you care to make a little bet on itWho’s Andrew Marr? When did we sign him? I never said we was gonna sign that lad from Norwich I said Hopefully, as I don’t rate palmer. It’s facts that we won’t sign him as we won’t be able to afford it

Well you'd think Gyokeres and Hamer are leaving - and the former for a decent feewhat gives you the Idea that we have cash to spend. Have you not seen any of the interviews of late
Is it more of a risk to buy a high-quality, young player for a decent fee and stick them on a four year deal, or sign a 29 year old on high wages for a 3 year deal? When Bury were doing that, people were saying that's what we should be doing.
hi boosh, bye booshAnyone can go back through old posts
I think it's riskier either just buying youngsters or just buying experience. You need to do a bit of both.Is it more of a risk to buy a high-quality, young player for a decent fee and stick them on a four year deal, or sign a 29 year old on high wages for a 3 year deal?
Hamer and Gyokeres were signed for £1m+ and both will go for a lot more.
Spending money doesn't definitely = being irresponsible. If the recruitment is sound we'll get more right than wrong.
Yeah 100% correct, I was just playing devil's advocate. If we don't invest, or take some level of risk we'll go sideways/backwardsI think it's riskier either just buying youngsters or just buying experience. You need to do a bit of both.
If you jut sign experience you're not going to get transfer fees etc to reinvest and you're constantly just using other income to cover wages and when they need replacing every few year you're looking at frees as you can't afford to pay for anyone.
If you just sign youngsters you'll have the inevitable up and down performances and the uncertainty over whether they'll make the grade. But those that are successful could provide funding for numerous transfers.
Personally I'd say 1 experienced player for every 3 promising youngsters.

Depends on characters really. We could do with two or three older players who are good with the team around that we could likely pick up on a free. Usually a CB, GK and one other. But for example I wouldn’t have Kelly in ahead of Hamer or Sheaf because he’s older and more vocal. Some of it needs to be signing more vocal younger players as well.
Right now we’ve got Moore, Wilson, Fadz, Kelly, Godden all over 30 and Bidwell, Rose, Dabo, Allen (and Hilsner lol) all over 26. So there should be enough experience around but just maybe not the right characters.
Goes to show we really lack leadership on the field. Wilson isn't really all that experienced for his age although he's a character, Kelly and Godden are consistently out of the side, Dabo the same, Hilssner isn't even worth discussing, Rose just isn't a leader and I wouldn't exactly call Allen one either although I barely notice him at the best of times.
I can't really think of anyone out of the other consistent starters who really rallies us as a team either.
It's no wonder why we often look all over the place since McFadzean has been injured.
O’Hare does his fair share of geeing up because of his personality. Bidwell talks a fair bit. But you’re right we just lack leadership throughout.
Yeah I would've mentioned O'Hare as he's also a character but obviously he's out for the foreseeable.
Bidwell is probably the only one in the team currently that is constructively vocal. I wouldn't really count Wilson to be honest as he's just gobby.
Wilson is shockingly quiet for a keeper. Still can’t get over watching the wall look to him for guidance and then just giving up and doing it themselves a few games back.
Dabo does as well actually TBF, you could hear him shouting "Out" to pull the defensive line up the pitch when defending a diagonal ballO’Hare does his fair share of geeing up because of his personality. Bidwell talks a fair bit. But you’re right we just lack leadership throughout.

Shame he cant do anything else isnt it

Well that's nonsense isn't it? He's clearly a decent player struggling with injury / confidence / form. No need for the vitriol.
No its not, its the view of a lot of the fanbase nowadays the blokes past it and has looked pants since halfway through our first season back.
Cant take a man on, cant assist, cant win a foot race i could go on
Did you read my post? I swear the Forest game where he kept £20m Djed Spence in his pocket was 9 months ago

With respect FP, one swallow doesn't make a summer. As much as I'm a fan of Dabo he's been woefully inconsistent for a while now. His fitness is becoming a pretty significant issue as well.
He's been a great servant but if the club is to move forward he needs to be let go in the summer.
I was lumping leadership in with experience. Of course whoever those players were they would need to be adding more to the team than just that though. For example, I wouldn't be playing the likes of Kelly even though he's one of the leaders. Similarly if Fadz was only being a defensive organiser but was himself getting caught out all the time then it wouldn't be worth playing him, but thankfully he does still have more to his game.Depends on characters really. judging by the standard of his reporting he does just make it up or steal it from hereAndy Turner hits back at critics!
While it may be true that it's time to move on I just find the abusive language embarrassing, why are people so bitter?
