Transfer Shouts (7 Viewers)

Unless we can offer something else other than cash of course

I'm not convinced the club will want to go down that route. Brighton's sell on clause, covering the annual losses and repaying the EFL loan will already be swallowing a significant proportion of any fee the club will receive for Gyokeres. So they may want to maximise the fee as much as possible and then take stock.

As whatever's left is essentially how the summer rebuild will be financed. Likely coupled with the sale of Hamer.

You can argue that none of the ex-Chelsea signings have been all that effective. Dabo has been the best one by miles, if that tells you anything. It’s a limited strategy that can only ever get you so far.

At the level we are at I thought Sterling was good

A beacon of optimism!

I suspect we’ll be rebuilding a squad in the summer, and have some cash to spend

We will, but said rebuild will be expensive. Even free agents at this level won't come cheap. Signing on fees, agent fees and transfer fees where possible will need to be factored into the cost of the rebuild in the summer.

That combined doesn't come cheap when the club needs 10+ players in order to field a competitive squad next season.

Bristol C. GK Bentley on his way to Wolves. I know he got a few mentions on here, wonder why he’s out of favour currently.

Speculate to accumulate. Nothing wrong with spending money if we’re confident we’ll get it back and more. That’s how the club has to be run.

Robins said himself there isn’t money to splash on players so what makes you think he’s gonna rebuild a whole squad in one transfer window. Spent more time talking about how they want to spend money on upgrading the training facilities to attract players🤣 in other words we can’t afford their normal wages as we don’t have money so let’s try and impress them another way

As for you Nick seems like I have xx

He said we can’t throw money around Willy nilly. Do you want him to say “yeah we’re proper flush, gonna drop ten mil.” Then start negotiations?

There’s not going to be a massive budget increase because it would make us unsustainable but money is there for the right player. That’s what’s actually been said. Everything else is fan speculation.

If the moneys there for the right player then why haven’t we signed someone to replace ohare as he’s might not even be fit for the start of next season. Our only signings this window have been loans.
We’ve gave Eccles and Wilson new contracts who are probably the lowest earning players in the club. King is begging fans to turn up like fisher used to. We are no better off with king, we still have no money

There’s literally a post a few posts up about us doing just that.

Exactly this, I'd worry about the sanity of any owner who comes in going yeah we've got loads to spend in this transfer window, it immediately drives up a clubs asking price. People who are saying we are financially no better off under King are guessing that because there's zero actual evidence of it.

I think the club's model will more or less be the same moving forward with regards to it being run like a tight ship but I'd imagine under King there will be more scope to do things within transfer windows which were previously not possible.

I think the fact no one has been sold (yet..) also proves that the club is better off than it was under SISU. I think Robins is actually quoted as saying that if King hadn't come in a sale would've been pretty much guaranteed and no signings would've been brought in. Or something along those lines anyway.

Also, you've got to remember the January window is an awful time to recruit. To get anyone in even half decent clubs have to pay premium - and to be fair King alluded to the fact the club will never be in a position to do that while under his stewardship. I don't think that really came as a surprise to most.

we haven’t signed anyone we LOANED waghorn and Kane out to LOAN 2 kids in. How have we been doing since that happened? I wouldn’t say we have more than we had. My point still stands WEVE spent barely any money this window. We’ve got rid of 2 players with 250+ appearances in championship for 2 kids. Maybe we should get dacosta back mate sure he’d sort us out defensively

The takeover only just happened and we lost our recruitment team. Robins has been open that he’s finding it hard to get value this window. This Sinani lad of it comes off will be a signing.

There’s zero evidence that we do genius. Anyone can say that they have money. Means fuck all
Your "that guy" aren't you? The one that I always end up sitting near .... "Your shit Palmer" fuck off Palmer" "get Him off Robins you don't know what your doing "

Palmer scores ..... "Brilliant player him, always rated him" "there's only onnnnneee Mark Robins" 🤨
