The definition of Plange is:
1 a tool with an adjustable sharpened steel blade set obliquely in a wooden or iron body, for levelling or smoothing timber surfaces, cutting mouldings or grooves, etc. 2 a flat tool, usually metal, for smoothing the surface of clay or plaster in a mould.

Hopefully he will be a good foil for Gyokeres…

Back to the Masunda rumours/guess work; it wouldn’t be a bad signing at all, as long as it’s weighted in our favour. So lower basic salary v higher appearance fee, clause to release of doesn’t meet ‘x’ appearances etc. Might not be the best deal for him, but it means staying at a good level and with a coach he respects.

I’ve haven’t seen him play live, but based on the unanimous hype and reports about him at the time, and his close relationship with someone proven to get the best out of him in AV, it could be a shrewd signing.

I wouldn’t see him as a COH replacement, but a good second option and another to play 10 in the diamond alongside him. Less pressure on him too.

Either way, pretty sure we’ll hear something in the next 24/48 hours!

I agree about an adapted deal, potentially though a 1 year deal with a 2 year extension clause if he meets “n” appearnces potentially 20/25 appearances

If it is Musonda, could be a really big gamble but if it pays off we could potentially have a player who is far too good for the championship when he's fit and firing, massive talent. If it doesn't pay off then I suppose he won't want alot of money, he seems to just want to play

Hmm, last time he was fit for a sustained period he was sent back by Celtic 4 months into a 18 month loan as he couldn’t get into their side. Then a move to Vitesse, mid table side in Holland. His career so far doesn’t sound like someone far too good for the Championship, that’s before you take into account the injuries.

All depends where his fitness levels are and his injury woes, could be another Enobakhare situation but hopefully not, might not be Musonda anyway, could be McCormick from Wimbledon that somebody mentioned who would be a smarter choice

If we sold gyokeres to Middlesbrough...he's better than that and I can't imagine he'd be pushing through for that move

Plange has looked pretty tricky 2-3 times I've seen him.

Middlesbrough will come into plenty of money this summer, they’ve spent big on strikers in the Championship before, Assombalonga and Rhodes come to mind

Think people forget that fees are rarely paid all in one go at our level. You get £7 mill and in practice it might be more like 2 or 3 with the rest to come later. Given we are prone to cash flow issues it seems, it’s wise to be wary over anything except an 8 figure fee in terms of what business MR can do with the proceeds.

I imagine that they will be selling Spence for pretty big bucks too. Nevertheless I would be surprised if they offered us a sum for Gyokeres that most of us would be happy with.

Selling to a fellow Championship club also has echoes of when we sold McSheffrey to Brum, and that didn't end too well for us.

I very much doubt Middlesbrough will have the attraction or the funds for a significant transfer fee. I kind off smirked when I read the article. Fulham I agree will be an opportunity being premier league football and being a London club.

Of course we can’t compete with Premiership clubs wages wise obviously but I think we can with most championship teams, those with parachute money obviously have an advantage but they will all have eye watering wage bills to unless they get their high rollers off the bill.

Just isn't worth the risk, we did the same last season with Bright and that was just a waste of time

They spent £8 million last season and they see the possibility of promotion under wilder

they are very unusual in that their finances always look a mess - they’ve lost something like £250 million since Gibson arrived and £30 million last year but Gibson seems happy to underwrite the losses

Had significant game time at Betis before that, then suffered an injury. Celtic was first football post-injury. There are a number of reasons signings don't work out at certain clubs though - see Gyökeres at Swansea. The Celtic stint wouldn't necessarily be what concerned me, it's the career threatening injury he had after that. Someone will take a chance on him though, was once one of the highest rated young players in the world.

Where does this plenty of money Middlesbrough will come into come from ?

Djed Spence and compensation agreement reached with Mel Morris over the whole Derby fiasco - Combined with the fact Gibson has never really been shy to pump his own money into the club in recent years

Still can’t see him going there mind

So was Sonny Pike. He's now a taxi driver.

I think that tag of one of the highest rated young players in the world is why he keeps getting chances after so many failures. What are the chances he's going to turn it around? Just a few too many strikes for me, and his stats at Betis when he did play are very poor anyway.

If it doesn't take much of the budget, or we aren't choosing him over someone else, then fine, but I'm very cautious over this.

Charly Musonda signed a 5 year / £2,750,000 contract with the Chelsea F.C., including an annual average salary of £550,000. In 2021, Musonda will earn a base salary of £2,184,000, while carrying a cap hit of £2,184,000.

Whatever the above means ?! Roughly 10k a week, and is 25 years old - thought he was younger!

Hope the rumors about Plange are true and that we've made a move for him. Hopefully we can unload Waghorn and/or Walker to make this work. Saw a few Youtube highlights of Plange and he could be a very useful addition to the team.

He has 4 goals in 26 games however a minutes per goal of 416 in a not very free flowing attacking Derby side

Think we are working on both going , think Waghorn will be happy to go as wants game time , Walker could be a different proposition though and Kane also
