The Premier League retained lists are out at 3pm today
Jake Clarke-Salter released by Chelsea..... Can we get a deal done?
Christensen and Drinkwater Chelsea exits confirmed
Leaves at 24 after playing 2 games for them
Chelsea full of stories like that. Think it works quite well for them commercially but not good for the players.
I dont get this obsession of getting rid of Reid, the lad literally only turned 20 last month, that's still really young, worth at least another season to see if he can develop. To be fair the outs are already decent
Shipley
Jones
Pask
Drysdale
If we can add Dacosta/ Reid to that list then you've got to say the deadwood has gone
good sign that
Not exactly bad. JCS has been able to take advantage of Chelsea's facilities and coaches, been paid a decent wage and spent the majority of his career in the Championship which is probably his level.Chelsea full of stories like that. It's more Robins hasn't been overly encouraging in his public statements, and he doesn't show any signs of having any confidence in actually playing him some time.I dont get this obsession of getting rid of Reid, the lad literally only turned 20 last month, that's still really young, worth at least another season to see if he can develop.

Saw this video a while ago on the same subject. Thought it was interesting.
Quite shady, but don't think they're breaking any rules and it seems to work for them
He's still young though, with another 2 years on his contract, was signed for a fee with the view of developing him, not everyone is first team quality at 19. He's worth another season, and a loan out. No ones going to pay a fee for him, as he hasn't been loaned out to prove his ability. Despite Robins criticisms, its harsh to call him deadwood, 18 months into a signing that was for development. Its not like he's been forced out of the u23s by a better player coming through. It's more Robins hasn't been overly encouraging in his public statements, and he doesn't show any signs of having any confidence in actually playing him some time.
But we also paid a fee for him, and he's not even seen as good enough to be backup. Don't think anybody would have expected him to walz into the first team, but probably would have hoped that he'd be called on to play if the LWB ended up injured or suspended. Instead we keep signing wing backs to go ahead of him! He's still young though, with another 2 years on his contract, was signed for a fee with the view of developing him, not everyone is first team quality at 19. Not really aimed at you NW, just keep seeing offload Reid comments. He may and probably won't make it, but its still early doors.

Robins said he doesnt fit in at LWB, potentially he could train hard and become a CB?But we also paid a fee for him, and he's not even seen as good enough to be backup. @better days did actually think Newton was at a similar level if not as strong a personality (or that was the impression I got, so tagging them in case i was wrong!), and he was released. Reid doesn't seem trusted at all.
I was applauded playing pool down my local, but you wouldn't have me in the world championship.Reid was applauded in his first training session so there has to be something there
That’s right, he said he is more of a centre back in this systemRobins said he doesnt fit in at LWB, potentially he could train hard and become a CB?
Potentially that could be why he hasnt appeared yet because he is still working on getting used to being a CBThat’s right, he said he is more of a centre back in this system

Been a rule change clubs are only allowed to have 8 players over the age of 21 out on loan this coming season, drops to 7 the next season then 6 the season after that, it was said Chelsea had 31 out on loan throughout Europe. And Chelsea’s loan “model” has been under threat over the last couple of years, there was an exodus last season of talented youngsters who could have stayed

Yoann Barbett available on a free would take him or Rupp from Norwich
And he did, got rid of him when HE realised it wasn’t working that’s the managers job ffs! That’s funny as in the whole Bright fiasco you kept saying leave it to Mark Robins as he knows best
And he did, got rid of him when HE realised it wasn’t working that’s the managers job ffs!
Sackable offence then ?He shouldn't have signed him in the first place.
Applauded for his dress sence rather than his footballing abilityReid was applauded in his first training session so there has to be something there
Seems harsh to be dropped not because of your footballing ability, but because you're a bit lacking in social skills at 18-19!Reid may still kick on if he gets a chance pre-season
Newton definitely looked a player but he was a very shy and quiet lad which probably counted against him

Was gonna say,so he could be the best young player the club’s ever had & they‘d kick him out just because he’s too shy shy?
