I agree. CB area a big concern. If Fadz isn't happy about his contract and it doesn't get resolved then that is not going to be good for morale. He isn't going to get any quicker either. I think we need an improvement in the heart.
Whilst Pask and Drysdale weren't looking like they could establish themselves in the first team, both seemed capable of standing in for the odd game or being an option on the bench. When Pask had a little spell as CB, rather than a RWB he had some good games.
With George Burroughs and Jay McGrath still very much U23 players we have a massive void to fill. Hopefully JCS will be one but the more it drags on the more unlikely that seems.
I have only seen Nabi Sarr a couple of times. He did not have a great game in play off final but the other time he looked very good at both ends of the pitch.
Somehow we are going to have to find some players on low wages who are able to bridge the U23 - first team gap, as well as one or two that can be first team regulars.

We could sign the model formally known as Jordan, that would give us the option of a big two upfront.

I bet the club are working hard to get some of the bottom of the squad out the door than anything else at the minute. I think MR has a couple of players he has spoken to and offered deals, if those are signed im sure the wages would fit into the budget as of now. The hard part comes when the ability to bring in, is solely dependent on those going out.

We maybe be able to bring in two now, but anyone after could be down to losing the wages of the higher earning fringe players. If that's the case it could be 2 out for 1 in. If we cant manage that he will have to consider losing 1 of the big 3 to fund, 2 quality incomings.

We need to wheel and deal if we are to improve the depth in quality, but MR has improved us every year since coming back. I know it gets harder but i dont see why he cant do it again and get us in the play off mix. That must surely be his target.

A lot of Middlesbrough fans confident that they are signing Gyokeres for 10m
I think that would be a price we would accept. Like it or not.
Rumoured that Jed Spence going to Spurs for 20m, so they will have cash from that, plus whatever Gibson (? Is it still him?) is already throwing at it.
They have also been linked with Gayle and a whole host of others.

If you look at the fees strikers have gone for in the past in this league, anything less than 15 million should be rejected immediately

What Championship clubs were willing to pay pre-pandemic likely differs wildly to what they will now. Even clubs like Middlesbrough who traditionally are big spenders are unlikely to be making outright 8-figure bids - even if they are set for a £20m windfall from the Spence sale. Baring in mind in the past two seasons they've posted losses of £30m+.

So, if he's sold to another Championship club I'd imagine any deal agreed for Gyokeres will be structured with a fair amount of add-ons and the upfront fee won't be anywhere near £15m.
