If Keinan Davies is worth £15m then Gyokeres definitely is.
Villa are also saying Archer is also worth that and they are similarish ages and Gyokeres scored heaps more and looked a much more complete player this season

Davis maybe you have a point... But
Archer is 3 years younger? Gyokeres scored heaps more... In a heap more appearances... Over the same amount of games Archer statistically would probably come out 3/4 short... And Archer is also English which will always add a premium to a players value...

Although ultimately value all comes down to what we are willing to accept and villa are in a far better negotiating position than us when it comes to selling players as we ultimately need the money to fund the club.

What has happened is clubs are now only allowed eight players over 21 out on loan and that’s reducing to six over the next two seasons so prem. clubs especially are attempting to cash in on excess players can’t blame them for that Davis for example is a decent player but £15 million Villa are having a laugh same re. Archer another decent player but a long way to go to be an eight figure transfer, although he is under 21 so could be okay this season. Simple fact is championship clubs don’t have the dosh for multi million transfer fees for provern players let alone gambles.

You are overstating this massively unfortunately. The rules look/sound far stricter than they are. You have also missed out the key element that home-grown players will be exempt too.

The only club out of the 'big 6' that it would have affected last season is Manchester City. Even Chelsea who are the ones often held up as the beacon for what is wrong with loans fall within the new rules.

Add to it still that domestic loans don't count either, with domestic bodies not having to implement rules in line with this until 2025, it really isn't going to have much bearing.

Would imagine things will start to move this week. Players back for pre-season a week tomorrow. We normally like to get two or three in before pre-season starts.

@Skybluebeliever do you know when are we announcing Palmer?
Majority of staff have been away (Moore and godden got married last few days) and are still away including medical staff , this is at most clubs , no other clubs have been doing many signing , behind the scenes a lot of work has and being done , players aren’t back until 27th June for testing for the first couple of days
Target will be to get players including new players all together for Spain trip

Do you know if the Spain trip is based at the pinatar arena again? Looking to possibly head out if they have a game, but don’t think any details have been confirmed by the club yet

Leamington game surely would be the time to get them together

Few of my mates have booked up to Cabo Roig, think it's around Orihuela

Would like us to move for Will Vaulks who has just been released by Cardiff. Alfie Mawson, just released by Fulham, is another playing worth looking out. Will probably lose one of Gyo and Hamer but this may not be a bad thing if we can replace with 3-4 players of genuine Championship quality.

Gyokeres has just turned 24 and Archer is 20

As always Platt, thanks for being the wanker who checks Google to correct anything anyone ever says… where would we be without you?

Just so you don’t have to stat check me, I’ll check Google so you don’t have to. My main point was…
Keinan Davis is 24, Gyokeres is 24
Davis scored 5 in 18 league appearances, Gyokeres scored 17 in 45 league appearances.

If Davis is valued at £15m you would ‘hope’ Gyokeres would be valued similar seeming as he’s a full international (without factoring in having the UK price tag increase Davis would have)

My additional but not as important comment was Archer was of ‘SIMILARISH’ age with a hefty price tag. I didn’t state exactly how close that was but in future I will ensure I check Google for every comment on the basis there might be a wanker out there like you correcting everything anyone says

Mawson has barely played in the last few years yet will still command a decent wage. Vaulks will be out of our wage range as some other club will likely be willing to pay him more than we can

In other news the centre back we had on trial last season Bushiri has joined Hibs permanently after a loan spell. It’s not gone down well, some of the replies make our fans look rational

If you go actually read the comments… I was not wrong.
I said Gyokeres was a similarish age to Archer to which I was then stat checked saying Gyokeres is 24 and Archer is 20

Davis is English and is under contract at a PL club.

The same applies to Archer, who's also young and currently excelling in England's U21s.

The two examples aren't really comparable as Villa don't actively need to sell and are in a position where they can price their players at overinflated values - we aren't.

they seem to have signed him in error not realising he'd tripped the clause in his contract and were thanking him for his service last week
