Transfer Shouts (4 Viewers)

Walsh just made available for transfer by Swansea, not for one minute advocating it but would people be opposed?

Fuck it, I'll say it... i'd have Walsh back in a heartbeat (depending on terms) I know he hasn't set the world alight since his loan but he was the standout player in our promotion season, especially the second half.

Id back our coaching team to get a tune out of him again.

This. I'd have him back in a heartbeat.... then again... I was similarly excited when Bright signed last year

I'd take him back. Would need to be favourable terms though to make it low risk.

Yep my thinking exactly. Would be a gamble but I feel like pretty much any signing we make will be at our level.

When fit we know he is good and if O'Hare, Dabo and Godden made the step up he would have also. Needed game time and a system that suited him so hard to judge where he is at now.

379 league minutes since his last game for us in March 2020...

Does anyone know if he was repeatedly injured?

I know he was when he went back to Bristol from us. But I thought it's been more a case of him getting unlucky with managers moving on shortly after he arrives and their replacemens not fancying him?

He got injured again in preseason for Swansea then didn't play well when fit. The football Swansea play should have suited him.

He was pretty much fit at Hull but couldn't get in the team.

And he's never been able to establish himself at Championship level, either before or after his time with us. Maybe he is just a very good League 1 player.

Nonetheless on a low wage I might be tempted to have him as a squad player, but certainly not as a replacement for Hamer.

I think MR is taking a real good look at what he has in the u23s to see if any can step up to add depth. He know he needs more players in but he wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't looking what's under his own nose 1st. Our own players need to be given a chance to show the level they are at and see if you can blend them in quickly. If they cant or not ready yet then a plan is put in place to help them succeed at the club or somewhere else.

We need players but we have time and once the staff work out what they have the gaps will be filled. No panic might even get a few trialist in or signings next week. Be interested to see how many of the u23s kept with the group over next few weeks could be a good indication of positions MR is targeting.

Walsh would be a big gamble as Bright was last season, better character but initially would have to be cheap wage wise. But then again if nobody leaves there would be O’Hare, Hamer, Palmer, Sheaf, James, Eccles, Kelly, plus youngsters Howley and Bapaga for our mid-field spots. Not on really is it.

What are the latest rumours? What happened with the McCallum loan?
