Quoting myself because I'm so self absorbed... But sounds like Delap will be recalled. Hope Doyle's progression could put us in with a chance of getting him.

He's been very poor for Stoke.

That's not to say Robins wouldn't be able to get a tune out of him.

He pretty much missed the whole of last season injured I think. Was seen a huge prospect though. Think near enough every Championship club wanted him the last two summers. Would be a great foil for Vik in my opinion.

Considering his appalling stats, I'm not sure how he could be. You need more from an attacking full back than just a run down the line. At a higher level it is shown up even more.
But you’re only picking one variable from his stats. I’d wager that his profile in L1 for
an attacking fullback was as good as any other.

Id like to see us raid L1 for a CB, someone young who can make the step up and had been forged in the fire of big lumps and route one football. Any suggestions? @Frostie youre usually good for one.

Nice piece about deniz undav I read this morning on the Albion, says how happy his team mates were for him scoring against Middlesbrough after he had a hard time with a family bereavement. Seems very popular at Brighton, but also says maybe loaned out due to slipping down the pecking order. I know someone mentioned him being linked with us a couple of weeks back.

His goalscoring record is really good something like 40goals in his last 60odd games all be it in lower divisions but goal posts are the same size in all divisions.

just looked at defenders out of contract at the end of June, tbh not many stand out as worth taking a punt on, hopefully MR can find us a loan from somwhere

Some younger than others but I think these lot would hold their own in the Championship:

Ricardo Santos (Bolton)
Mads Andersen (Barnsley)
Warren O'Hora (MK Dons)
Eiran Cashin (Derby)

I'm not convinced we'll be in that market though as their clubs will likely all ask for big fees.

Not hard to locate Dabo's assists to be honest. 6 league assists and no goals in 106 appearances for us. Being good at going forward is a bit of a myth sadly.
Bit misleading. Dabo was about important role of assisting the assist. Number of times he linked up beautifully with COH, Allen & Godden. Not sure anywhere provides stats on assisting the assist. He was also strong on the ball and rarely gave it way. Class player going through a difficult period maybe?

I believe if his team (is it Heracles) go up then we can go back in for Rente

What’s a big fee for the likes of MK Dons it Bolton? £2-3M?

Could be wrong but isn't he out of contract anyway? Assuming it's possible I'm guessing there's stopping the club from offering him a pre-contract agreement now with a view to signing him in the summer.

Or, and this is unlikely, offering them a nominal fee during this window.

Think the club have an option of a further year (read an article a couple of weeks ago) which they will presumably trigger to get a fee in the summer

He remains ineligible for a work permit, unless his team is promoted and he features. As posted before his club has an option to extend

If we managed to get Undav, we'd have the best two strikers in this division up top. He was the top scorer in the Belgium top flight last season. Something crazy like 26 goals in 35 games.

I think he’d go to a lower Prem team if anything.

He is also a different type of striker all together than Gyokores could fit in well as a partner, Vic needs one imo.

Yeah, not convinced by him at all.

Stoke fans seem to think that he can develop into a capable player but the decision making part of his game is atrocious. I guess that's down to the need for more coaching/experience which hopefully should come in time for him.

Ultimately the Championship is probably a step too far for him though at this stage of his career. Potentially would fare better in the SPL or L1 for a season first to cut his teeth and then take a view on where to go from there.

Mads Andersen would be a very good signing in my opinion. Did well in a struggling Barnsley team last year. I believe his contract expires at the end of the season, so a January bid of around £750k might be tempting for Barnsley to accept

All of those are good centre halves and I agree could make the step up, id add

Ronnie Edwards (Peterborough)
Liam Kitching (Barnsley)
Luke Woolfenden (Ipswich)

Although I think we would struggle to get Woolfenden from Ipswich as they stand a good chance of promotion.
Even in league 2 I think these two are decent

Dan Happe (Leyton O)
Tom Anderson (Doncaster)
