Rumour is we’ve now switched our attention to Calvin Hallstairsandlanding. Scouts have been impressed at how he’s worked his way up through the levels.
Where on earth is he from with a name like that?

Because I don't know what I'm doing with data sites, had a look at L1 and L2 assist leaderboards, checked for players that might fit our profile. Other than Poku at Peterborough, found two players in L2 that would give cover on both flanks and midfield. Jodi Jones. Dan Crowley. FFS!

Are we looking for a target man type forward or a small fast type

Or none at all
Hopefully Simms will come good long term as we have given him a four year contract. What we need though is a quality striker to come in short term to provide goals and experience and provide a challenge to Godden. Moore absolutely fits that and would also add that physical presence up front that we have missed so far.

In my view Simms desperately needs a rest and taking out of the firing line both for the good of the team and for his own good. He's the only player who has played in every match and has started the majority and virtually all recently. Moore would have enabled that and his experience would probably have helped Simms to develop his all round game.

Seems Moore is going to Ipswich but we certainly need a player of his quality in the short term.

That's an area where Gus was very good at , he used to hit a lot of first time balls and put us on the front foot

Yeah it’s not about supporting the attack as much as Gus did. We play with four forward players instead of 2 or 3 this season so can afford a CM who sits more. But we miss that speed of thought and ability to execute a wide range of quick passes.

Exactly ! If we got an 8 or a box to box player they would be playing in similar areas to O’Hare or Palmer . Also with the full backs playing so high up we need two midfielders to sit slightly deeper
