What's the point in buying an established Championship football club with hopes of getting to the Premier League within the next 5 seasons if you're not prepared to spunk millions on players?

To maybe run it like a business that doesn’t automatically load the club with debt?

SISU managed to be modest (ish) in their transfer outlay and we got to within one penalty from promotion the Premier League.

Btw not saying we don’t need players but all this bullshit about missing transfer targets, small budgets and holding out for bigger transfer fees etc is just agenda bollocks.

There’s been 15 transfers in the whole of the EFL since 1st July.

No way we ain’t getting upgrades to Dabo, Rose, Kane, Waghorn and Walker.

These things take time!

I was fully expecting a signing yesterday. Longer the week goes on more people will start to worry. If there’s not something alongside season tickets going back in general sale Wednesday I’d suspect that’s a sign things are moving slower than we’d like.

I'd suspect there are going to be around about 3 loan players in the starting line-up this season, so in reality I wouldn't expect more than a couple marquee signings. The rest is just going to be squad filler to pack out the bench.

I see Blues are being linked with Josh Maja (leaving Bordeaux on a free). He is still only 24 and has a lot of ability. Wouldn't mind him at all.

good points.

Doug King fancies his hand at running a football club. Public statements to the press aren’t delivered under oath. There are only two ambitions in the Championship: getting promoted and avoiding relegation. King decided to go for the first ambition.

Ray Ranson had a plan to get CCFC promoted but all that happened was the club spent money, appointed Coleman and spent most of the time struggling at the wrong end of the table.

We have a new owner. We would be wise to remain sceptical.

Could do with a long term RWB to develop that's our own rather than Cuffy, I'd take Tchamadeu from Colchester, Latibeaudiere can also play there

Be good to see how many signings other clubs have made. I get the sense that outside of the Saudi Arabia league deals the market is moving quite slowly?

Genuine question and not a dig…

Evidence that GIMOC is an ITK on anything other than predicting Kelly would get a 1 year deal (which was blatant)???

I just really want to believe the Hamer deal is done but need evidence that the source is credible.

Thanks

He got team news right a few times last season, I think it was that Walker was starting vs Norwich and there was an illness outbreak before Blackpool off the top of my head. Also knew the first three fixtures this season and some other stuff about signings last summer too I think.

Also got some stuff wrong too about Wasps not leaving and some other stuff with the King deal in Jan but I can’t remember specifics.

I’m sure the fixture stuff was that he DM’ed Weeman (who gets them in advance for work) and Gimoc copy and pasted his message in the thread to appear ITK

Still 2 months to go of the window. Absolutely in an ideal world you'd have the majority of the side together at the start of pre season but can be difficult. 42 games left after the window ends. Sure we will have 9 or 10 more signings by end of the window
