It popped into my head last night , if we’re looking for a new keeper, Karl Darlow on loan at Hull from Newcastle , has PL experience and a very good goalkeeper

Tavenier at Ranger's, his number's are incredible, also I'd consider Joe Aribo at Southampton, he's had a poor season there, but he's class.
Not sure why it didn't work out.

If we don’t go up. the summer will be huge for us to keep this momentum. we lose Vik and Gus along with the deadwood, its a massive rebuild. puts more pressure on the Saturday game

He’s unlikely to get a brilliant contract elsewhere given his results over the last couple of years.

If he’s on £10/k a week plus as some have rationalised then he’s going to struggle to demand high money.

He just hasn’t suited our style and system.

The only way we should consider keeping him, whatever division we play in, is a contract with a loan out in mind that covers a large chunk of our output. This way we can recall him if he does well.

I think he’s going and will end up at Notts County with Jodi Jones (who I guess will end up there if Oxford don’t trigger his extension).
Jodi Jones signed a 2 year contract at Notts County today.

Not a huge shock.

Honestly useless speculating over specific players at this point... it will be all about finding value in the market. I'm sure the scouting team will have targets identified already, but especially if we go up we'll hopefully find players who are available for less than their usual market value (free transfers, loans, surplus to requirements, low profile etc.).

Never mind the fact that a lot of work will need to be done just to maintain the squad as we are losing all the loan players and desperately need more depth.

I think we may keep Walker because he will have some resale value. Assuming you’re right, £500k is the ceiling - £750k if we’re lucky.

We need 3 good strikers to compete in my view. Yates, Godden and another would suffice in the Championship. For premier league we’d need another. I don’t think Godden could make an impact physically and we probably won’t be able to have enough possession to get Godden in the game if we went up.

Overall, I’d sell up if we got promoted.
Really? Didn't he go on loan to Portsmouth in L1 and do absolutely fuck all? What wages is he on?

There is that, but given we’re likely to lose Gyokeres it’s possibly likely we’d have to change how we play.

going to be a massive summer regardless of how we finish on Saturday
Are we likely to lose Gyokeres? There's a 50% chance we keep him at this point as far as i'm concerned.

Depressingly I recon there is a good chance that Vik and Gus still go even if we do go up. Don't get me wrong I hope it doesnt happen. I really hope the club has got under their skin and can convince them to stay ...
But the way agents think worries me. With 12 months left on their contracts (and only 6 before they can talk to European clubs) they are in a super strong position. Money and club status usually talks.

Both players stock is so high at the moment, I would imagine agents would be thinking now is the time to make the next step. Both will likely have the pick of dozens of teams chasing them in the summer (Vik especially) Next season could be a slog for Cov, would it be wise for them to capitalise on the hype and move now or risk a year at a club which will in all likelihood scrapping for safty? I think we would struggle to match the contracts they could get elsewhere without stretching ourselves finacially.

Probably a very negative take but modern football is brutal and stuff like this happens all the time.

Nah they'll stay if we go up. We'll offer them good deals as it would cost an absolute fortune to replace them, would make very little financial sense.

Yeah for us it makes sense for us but does it for them? if a stable Prem team comes would they not just move whilst their stock is high. Cov might have a crap season next year, Vik & Gus could be shown up for not being at the level required, the risk is big for them and they will have their sodding agents in their ear hoping for a pay day.

Come on man loads of teams will be circling! there have been loads of teams linked and we shall see at the end of the season. Pulling it out of thin air I could see a team like Brentford eyeing up Vik. they need cover for Toney

That is pretty much what I had in my head. Also the chance Gus goes to a big team back in hthe Netherlands. he has openly said he wants to play for Feyenoord.

Really hope we can pull it off and get them to sign new cotracts but there is so much going against us

I've heard no rumours at all other than Vik to Brentford. If we lose our best player to Brentford when we're on a level playing field then we are in trouble.

You lot are so negative it's actually painful. We're not losing our best players if we go up. Come back and quote me to gloat if I'm wrong, I can take it.

Yep, based on the bottom half of the premier league and those clubs with plans to be in the bottom half
So you've just named a load of clubs who's transfer plans you have no idea about. Excellent work.
