What if we get 20 for vik?

why not? Can’t expect MR to consistently over achieve
That 20m won’t be going into transfer fees, or very little anyway, training ground upgrades, CBS pitch etc and wages for free’s is much more likely. None of it is coming out of Doug’s pocket.

Expect mediocrity then, if none of player sales go into the team we’ll be in a relegation battle

having said that, getting the infrastructure right is important

after a great season last year, this summer will prove what he’s about, can’t say I’m confident

Be very disappointing if Robins is not allowed a substantial amount
You would think Doug would have had to have given Robins some funds this summer even taking sales out of the equation, so I would I hope a large amount of the fee received for Vik would be put back into the playing squad.

I’d like to think money for the pitch and training ground is set aside already and not from potential player sales but I would definitely think general running costs and wages will take up a substantial amount of any fee. I’m sure MR would get something but it will be south of 50%.

If you sign Gus up DK that will go a long way

but 50% of player sales isn’t really crazy figures

couple million from play offs, season ticket increase in price and people, of course there’s costs with running a football club I get that, but if we want to be knocking on that play off door most seasons as is his demands, you can’t expect to keep doing it without spending, eventually you’ll be found out

I think he proved somewhat is January, we can all be honest we could have done with a couple more players in Jan to bolster a hugely dwindling number of players available. We brought in a couple of loans, clouded under the guise of “keeping our best players” Those players obviously got us to the play off final, but it was more a case of huge luck that nobody else kicked on and we limped in there, coupled with an incredible Hamer.

The biggest gap the club are going to have to fill is the hike in rent. Judging by some of the comments from those within the club I'd imagine it is extortionate and the commercial deal - i.e. F&B/parking etc. is somewhere in between of less than great to practically non-existent.

January is always a tough time to do business

gave him the benefit of doubt

prove will be in the pudding this summer

Does Austin have any experience of working/scouting in Europe like Badlan at Norwich?

Does it matter at this point? Best will be some players we were already aware of, or personal recommendations from players and staff, no time for scouting now considering there’s no football and they wouldn’t have been in scope before. Got a whole season to properly scout.

First season up, no sales: Hamer £1.3m, Walker £900k plus something on Reid Hilsner and Tavares.

Second season, no sales: Sheaf £900k, Vik £1m ish, plus Kane.

Expecting at least £4/5m isn’t unreasonable in a summer we could make £20m+
£4/5 million would be a bit shit in my opinion, with anomaly of selling a player for £20 million. I think even SISU may have given 4 or 5 back from 20.
Unless of course we get a lot of freebies on decent wages.
