Why wouldn’t he go to Sunderland from Newcastle? They’re not in the same league plus he’s hardly one of their star players - bit of an OTT comment
You're a youngster from a team who are hated by the opposition's fans - apart from the fact that it might help you develop a thick skin, why would you go somewhere, where every mistake you make will be picked upon x10, especially if it was a loan (i.e. still a Newcastle player) The Sunderland/Newcastle thing isn't the same as us and Villa, they really do not like each other (my brother lives in Wallsend and is a Newcastle fan, as do all his family - he does love CCFC too)

Because they're likely local, and if you're a young player means you won't have to relocate your entire family...

Footballers don't half care about all this. It's a job. Are you saying you wouldn't move to your work business' largest competitor for a significantly larger salary? or if you were significantly more valued?

I get your point - but have a look and see how many Newcastle players have gone on loan to Sunderland (which given your logic, which I agree with - should have happened)

Coventry City and Stoke City are keen on Blackburn striker Sam Gallagher - but won’t meet the asking price.

Gallagher is deep in a very lucrative contract with Rovers and looks too expensive for the Sky Blues as they seek a successor for Viktor Gyokeres.

The Potters are also interested and may return if they are still in the market later in the window.

Blackburn may sell Gallagher if the price is right and they will ask for around £5 million but his salary makes it a costly deal for a Championship club.
Tracy Morgan No GIF

Not at that price.

Very few decent free agents about this window.

One that might be worth a look is Steven Sessegnon, released by Fulham. Did well on loan at Charlton last season where he covered both right back and left back. He can also play defensive midfield. Still only 23 and has champ experience both with Fulham and a loan spell at Bristol.

He has had injury problems, which is why he found himself back at league 1 level last season. He did manage 33 appearances for Charton though so possibly putting his injuries behind him.

I thought Panzo was alright, but that moment in the playoff final when he came on and gifted them a goal straight away was traumatic enough to put me off taking him on a permanent. Genuinely could not believe it when the goal was disallowed and how at that moment it must be our day...
Please, don't ever mention that moment ever again, it just sent a shudder down my spine!

I was watching it (well, pacing around like a fuckinglunatic) at home, and thought he’d fucked everything up but did notice the handball in real-time.. so I was having rather loud words at the ref regarding it (so loud, it’s entirely possible he heard, 5,000 miles away). Then when I realized they were taking a look at it, I iced my tits, as it was an obvious handball.

It was clearly nerves, as memory serves it was his first ‘touch’? Coming on at such a tense and nervy moment, I personally can forgive him for it. Panzo, for me, still has a lot to learn but over the course of his loan, I thought he was decent and capable of further development.. I’d be comfortable having him back.

Yeah, that's a fair analysis. I can tell you from being sat there going through emotional turmoil (and too far back to even contemplate thst there was a hand ball) was horrendous. Thinking maybe we had just got though to extra time, and then that...

I think he is an alright player and as a squad member it would be fine, but I've seen his price tag as quoted millions and I'm not sure that's something I would go for.

I called it straight away at the game and got told to shut the fuck up before I was proven right. I win.

The panzo moment genuinely killed me, for two reasons.

I didn't see the handball because the minute he gave it away I fell to my knees and couldn't look.

I then convinced myself after the VAR that it was meant to be, that it was some fairy story for us all and that was part of it.

Incorrect.

I was exactly the same. Thought it was destiny or some shite but proved wrong. I've not watched any back bar the pens. Too gutted.

Not sure If I'd want Panzo back to be honest

He was looking good and improving before his injury and the arrival of competition that cost him his place.
He's still only 22 and I'd be happy to have him back, but last I heard he was on his way to Rangers again after there was a problem with his original move there.

Good shout imo but someone has said on here he’s been sold, according to his profile though he is still at Charlton, but yes I agree at only 19 he could be well worth the risk with the future in mind.

Villa were linked with him in April is all I can find, he got injured on 8th July so he’s out for pre season so I don’t think he’s gone anywhere
