Luton agree a £2.5m fee for Blackburn goalkeeper Kaminski, that should put to bed Wilson is on the verge of a Premier League move

Think Watford will struggle. Sold their best players and replaced them with bang average aging players. They got big fees for Sarr and Pedro so not sure why they haven’t spent big on decent talent.

I think financially they are in a bit of bother. Those sales were just for covering ffp. They could have a tricky year.

With Whatmough off the table, I’m looking at the free agent list at CB and it’s not very inspiring. Filip Helander and maybe Steven Caulker seem like viable options. Liam Moore is past it for us imo. There’s this Iranian lad I watch (me being Iranian) called Aref Gholami. Recently had his contract up at Esteghlal (One of the two big historic teams in the league) and had interest from teams in Portugal a couple seasons prior. Only 26 and would honestly fit in at this level. Would probably gain a WP as he has caps for Iran. Probably an outrageous shout but thought I’d throw it out there.

Helander is very slow

We didn’t want McNally pure and simple, we had the money to buy him still have and haven’t bothered, suggests to me someone is lined up.

Thought Thomas was the alternative. But have to say, another CB would not go amiss.

Reading their forum, they've sold a few and have just loaned their best LB or RB to Udinese. Perfect example of owners with 2 teams really screwing over one of them.

I doubt that Bumley would have wanted McNally to come on loan to us as they want him to develop into a rounded defender, not a Coventry defender

I said i thought we'd get another statement signing and we have it in the form of Wright but for some reason i'm still expecting a decent sum to go out on a defender too. Not Wright money of course but if we get someone in for 2-3 million i wouldn't be surprised.

Depending on Hamer. If Hamer goes, watch some of that money go on a CB and a CM. If he stays, we'll get a youth Prem CB on loan.

I think any CB we sign will be more of a development signing.

We already have Fadz, Thomas, Latibeaudiere and Binks.

Fadz will likely get less gametime this season, but another signing means one of those 5 is not going to play and of those 5 who is going to be happy with that?

If we want to develop this back line for the long term its Fadz who we have to drop

Their number one target was West Brom keeper Palmer, but the offer was rejected.

Valérien Ismaël is bound to be the first Championship manager to be sacked.

I’m not sure how much game time another loan would get in our defence ….
Who would have thought we would spend £7million on another striker who won’t be for the bench. If there’s someone who MR thinks will make us better and he can get him he will. Remember at the moment Binks is just a loan.

I'm actually 50/50 on Fadz. He's been and still is a key part of the defence and is great at organising the two either side of him. But he has been found out a few times in 1 on 1 situations (MK Dons pen after 30 secs? Okay, a friendly but still need to be alert). Another CB could be development or personally, I think could be to replace him more and more over the season.

With Fadz being fazed out and Latibeaudiere possibly filling in other positions as and when needed due to injury/suspension.

Thomas and Binks unknowns at this level I think another centre back is a priority.
