I would love COH to stay but the club moves on regardless of whether he remains a Cov player or not. His positivity and energy does have a positive impact on the team though . I'm pretty sure that some new arrivals are in the pipeline for January. As ever we just have to trust Robins and the team who invariably seem to get things right.

CovTel interview with Robins yesterday
'With less than a week to go before trading starts, CoventryLive asked the manager if he’s still hopeful of doing a bit of business.

“I said before that the huge turnover in players (in the summer) means we have to settle everyone in and then wait and see what’s out there, really,” he said, following the 2-0 Boxing Day victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

“I wouldn’t hold out too much for that; I wouldn’t be looking too much for new ones coming in but more to get the others bedded in and better. They are starting to get there now, but let’s wait and see.”

There is clearly a change in emphasis and urgency, but has his thinking on January recruitment changed in recent weeks following the upturn in results and form?'

So don't expect an influx of new talent. Our transfer budget may already be gone settling in some of the players we've already got.

This may be deflection. He will know that the midfield needs strengthening as well as a few back up options

We've always said on here that Robins isn't going to show his cards. Especially with the warchest we had after Hamer and Vik went. But if losing out on one or two incomings is enough to fund a CoH contract, I'd be alright with that. IMO, only injury replacements needed then and they can be loans.

I love the speculation at transfer window time adds a bit of fun but one I’d try & go and nick is that Liam Millar from under the noses of PNE who’s on loan from Basel I’m sure we have the finance muscle better than Preston just think him opposite side to Saka would be great.

If our transfer budget has gone King needs to come out and explain where the Hamer money went.

Well he didn’t go on a free!

No but £1.5m and £15m are similar enough to be confused when reporting and substantially different in value for example. And skyblue_55 wasn't overly informative about what he knew. Maybe there is less than we were told or maybe that's another tall tale to put the opposition off. Guess we'll find out in 5 weeks time.

You think we sold him for £1.5m??

If that’s the case King needs to come out and offer to put the club up for sale.

You of all people should know to read all of a comment before putting your foot in your mouth. I didn't say we did sell him for that. I said THAT WAS AN EXAMPLE (I hope you understand that meaning ?) . I was comparing two figures and saying that reporting them and the actual value can be different. I have no idea how much was passed from club to club. Just parsing skyblue_55's comment and wondering aloud.

Stop looking for arguments where there aren't any.

skyblue_55 has shown absolutely nothing to say he’s got inside info on the clubs transfer dealings. To extrapolate from that to essentially “maybe we gave Hamer away for nothing” is insane.

We have cash. If we don’t spend it King needs to explain why, especially in a season of record ticket sales.

Got to be careful though, didn’t you say a couple of weeks ago Sakamoto was old at 27

Of course he doesn’t need to explain why. He paid money to buy the club. He’s relaid the pitch. Stuff has been done to the training ground and changing rooms. We probably run at a loss. Maybe he’s holding cash to make an offer to Ashley. There’s no reason at all for him to explain why £’s in may not equal £‘s out.

And all that in less than a year, can’t wait until he’s been here two years.

Just wondering whether or not O'hare replacement will be lined up already. The club will know what O'hare's future is and would have likely already highlighted a replacement months before he returned from his injury. Lastly, who would you lot want as a O'hare replacement?

Not that I think we would have ever have been able to sign him but check out Igor Thiago… went for similiarish money in the summer to what we signed Haji Wright for. Young, reasonable wages and seems similar to Gyokeres in that he can find the net but also plenty of assists (11 assists last season).

On O'Hare - I would wait until march and if he doesn't break down offer him what he wants. As a post mentions it will work out cheaper than a replacement. It will also mean we have a salable asset if a relegated side want to pay big money for him over the following 12 months.

On January, Robins is being typically coy. We're a Saka injury away from needing to change formation again & we were trying for a midfielder on deadline day. Robins & King both know we need reinforcements in these areas.

I think a lot of fans will he disappointed as can’t see us doing a lot. Will have to offload a couple first I should think but not sure who Robins will let go - more to free up space than wages.

Still think we need another centre forward option to compete with Simms. Godden just not sharp enough anymore.

And another midfielder, box to box. But as Robins always says, it has to be better than what we’ve got and it isn’t too bad at the moment. Not sure who is out there.
Kelly godden Moore are the three I think
Dependent on who we can get in

I wouldn't like to guess what is going to happen, Robins gives nothing away in interviews and the club are quiet. Id expect O hare's name to be seen a lot with the outcome known quite quickly.

Tavares, Moore and Kelly could be names as well, that we may see. What i do know is Robins knows exactly what he needs to make us better. If he thinks that working harder with what we have then fine, he has earned that trust from all of us.

Don’t see Godden moving unless at least one striker comes in we need one now even if the present three stay.
Don’t put Taveres in that mix.
Would be crazy to sell Godden unless we are bringing in at least two new strikers.
