This surely must be a joke.

There are few people on this planet who are more self centred and only care about themselves more than Trump. He's also been shown to lie in pretty much everything he says or tweets. When someone criticises him even in a constructive manner he responds like a pathetic child with name calling.

He may be democratically elected but if someone like him had been elected in Africa or somewhere and people looked at the things he's done to try and increase his own power and ignored the democratic process you'd instantly recognise it as the behaviour of a wannabe dictator.

Do you think he will get re-elected?

I really don't like Trump but fucking hell, some of the protests and clever placards make me want to cringe myself inside out and back again.

Saw this doing the rounds

There's clearly the face of someone who's anti-hatred:

It may depend on who gets picked to go against him. If they pick another 'Clinton'-esque establishment figure he's nailed on to win.

There is talk that Hilary will run again, the very definition of an out of control ego.
If she does, he'll win comfortably.

No it doesn’t at all. Voting in an election which we should have participated defies rational thought

I’m sure all those voting for the bollocks to brexit party spent a long time trawling through the manifesto detail

Neither of these points are any kind of a valid argument against what I have said.

In many ways it’s quite apt. If it wasn’t for D-day they may not have had the right to protest.

There is a time and place for everything. Protesting against Trump when there are lots of Veterans down the road celebrating d-day and remembering fallen hero's certainly isn't right

I've always wondered if these protesters have jobs? Embarrassing individuals

To be polite I'll answer the question.

I think he's got a decent chance of getting re-elected. It's pretty much a two party system (even more so than here) and they've got a huge amount of tribalism in being Dem/Rep and will vote for that candidate regardless.

Added to that he's a very well known celebrity and even we seem to have entered a phase whereby celebrity is everything - the US takes that to extremes. The media over there gives him a huge amount of airtime (probably because they're just waiting for him to say something controversial or stupid) and so other candidates don't get the same exposure. Last election I think Clinton was actually giving a speech somewhere and the instead of showing it the news were showing lives scenes of an empty podium where Trump was going to be at some point. If there is more than one speech going on you can bet it'll be Trump they're showing.

Plus Fox fawns over him and far too few pick him up on blatant lies and mis-truths. He appeals to the worst aspects of people's psyche and uses fear to get people on board

I also think the Dems may fuck it up again - so many of them are putting themselves into the race that they'll end up fighting so much between themselves before they know it election is done and Trump's back in.

Is he best qualified (or even remotely qualified) for the job? No.

But my main point is what has my opinion on him getting re-elected or not got to do with my original quote, pointing out his ego, lack of intelligence, childishness and selfishness? I can't imagine you were trying to deflect from the point.....

This is like me saying “maybe they’ll shoot anyone who disagrees with them, like the right wingers they are”

The action of a couple of idiots do not negate the peaceful protests of thousands of others.

No, there seems to be a theme of "agree with us, or we will abuse/hurt you", not exactly anti-fascism is it?

Looks like the protests are in Guildhall Square, where I would assume there is some sort of reception for Trump later. If you're at the D-Day event on Southsea Common there's no way you'll see or hear any sign of the protest.

Seems to be two protests taking place. The one against Trumps visit and another from the far right, although not really clear what they are protesting.

Suppose you could make an argument that people fought to allow people the right to protest. Personally I'm not sure that Trump is the best representative the US could send to this event given his history of avoiding service and his refusal to attend a memorial on the 100th anniversary of armistice day with other world leaders as it was raining.

Why is nobody intentionally winding up the protesters? "We love Trump" over and over just to get them going.

Don't even like the bloke but just troll them a bit then walk away.

In fairness actions speak louder than words. Bits of the NHS have been at least virtually privatised via the backdoor. Physiotherapy is available if you are happy to wait months...but many people think £50-100 is ok to get help so go privately. Cleaning services etc was all put out to tender. If Pharmacy was tendered out in the near future it wouldn't wouldn't be a shock to me

right wingers aren't violent.
For example, that bloke who killed Jo Cox was just an unhinged loner, the fact he attended Britain first rallies, and had amassed right wing literature and searched far right web sites is just coincidental apparently.
Your point is correct, there are wrong 'uns at all ends of the political spectrum. Trying to pick out a few nutters to tarnish everyone is frankly embarrassing.

Sure all those who were up in arms about Robinson and Farage having milkshakes thrown over them will be outraged that a Robinson supporter is casually waving around a 'sharp weapon'.

What I'm trying to say is the 2 infamous words 'Fake News'.

What she did will give ammo to the media by false printing things, as to what we're seeing with the Metro article.
