CNN reporting Trump had to be "persuaded" to finally make that video and let the National Guard be sent in. Was "content" to let it run to highlight how the people felt cheated and betrayed !!!

He doesn’t have the authority.

It is strange, though, that the Secretary of Defense reportedly spoke to Pence and not Trump about the situation. There are business leaders and politicians openly suggesting Pence try to remove him now, and for the first time I think it could happen. Pence has little to no reason to stick with him at this point - the Trumpers are no longer a constituency worth courting.
