James Obrien had an interesting caller today into his radio show. It was an American woman living in the U.K. and she was talking about the Central Park five. Short of it it was five men who just happened to be black and espanic and in the vicinity when a woman jogger was raped, they were arrested and wrongly convicted of her rape. Donald Trump then took out full page adds in New York papers calling for them to face the death penalty. Six years later their conviction was quashed and they were freed when a serial rapist confessed to the crime and the dna evidence confirmed he was definitely the rapist (not sure why the DNA evidence didn’t clear the 5 men in the first place). Anyhow, Trump was asked at the time of given that the actual perpetrator had now been caught did he regret taking out the adverts. His response was no, he didn’t care that they’d been cleared beyond any doubt, he didn’t care that the actual perpetrator had confessed and the DNA evidence 100% confirmed it, he’d declared them guilty and they were guilty and they should still be receiving the death penalty. That’s a very very dangerous man. Even in the light of irrefutable evidence that he was wrong he can’t bring himself to admit that he was wrong. Which explains the events over the last couple of months. The guy is a psychopath.
