Surely that can't be true.

You do wonder how people like that even qualify? If they've got the brains to pass the exams surely they're sensible enough to not believe nonsense. And if you're the licencing authority even the mention of such a batshit crazy theory, unless they've got at least some empirical evidence to back it up, would be enough for them to be considered unstable and a risk and so should be struck off.

Depends what they're a doctor in, too.

Maybe they're a doctor of Victorian Literature!

Of course it's true, things really are beyond parody now. If anyone came up with this shit for a TV show it'd be binned for being too unrealistic.
Donald Trump has thrown his weight behind a doctor’s claim that there is a cure for coronavirus despite her insistence that some illnesses are caused by sex with demons.

Houston based Dr Immanuel, who works as a pediatrician and religious minister, has previously claimed alien DNA is secretly being used in medical treatments. She has also claimed that scientists are devising a vaccine to turn people away from religion. She insists that masks don’t prevent the spread of Covid-19, despite Trump himself urging Americans to wear them.

I was listening to a podcast about Trump reluctantly assembling his transition team (All candidates have to have one by law, Trump wasn't going to bother because he didn't want to pay for it) and the transition period itself after he was elected.

It was frightening just how incompetent the whole thing was and how key positions were given to people with no experience whatsoever in the required field.

I see he’s already talking about cancelling the election. Who didn’t see that coming four years off?

My thoughts exactly. Haven’t seen much more coverage of this (mainly because I haven’t looked) - how’s it been received?

They're saying he can't postpone an election (particularly for a reason he's completely made up) but we've had four years of 'he can't do that can he?' so fuck knows what the rules are anymore

Yeah but no-one expected a pandemic sweeping the world at the time. If there was a reason for it that's about as good as gets. Bit rich though seeing as how he's consistently downplayed the seriousness and been more than willing to get things open for economic reasons.

Such a warped and thick prat.
Applying his logic opens up so many fronts for equivalent action by any other Nation.
Like against the tech giants.
Stating that what's going on with tiktok is down to a type of landlord tenant relationship as they harvest customers within the US

What a fucking hypocrite.
If anyone was in doubt over the security aspect he's laid bare his motivations .
Financial and Economic.
Gangster.

Agree. Supposedly free market economist and constantly having a go at government for interfering in business now he's demanding a large portion of the purchase price of the sale of a private enterprise. I assume he'd be happy to hand over huge amounts of any proceeds of one of his businesses to the US government if he sold it?

He can't change the date of a federal election, only the house of representatives can and they are control by the democrats

Trumps never been free market. His entire economic platform is built on protectionism.

Poor terminology. I mean he's non state interference in business, low tax and regulation etc. But of course he's all for tax dollars being used to fund private business.

As for protectionism it depends on who. For America it's fine, even something to be proud of. Anywhere else like China and it's an unfair advantage that should be cracked down on.

I mean yeah, that’s the nature of protectionism, but you couldn’t get much clearer than “America first”.

But yeah that’s the essential contradiction at the heart of nationalist economic policy driven by libertarians. Same as ours always want the government to step in and socialise their losses but want to keep all the profits for themselves.

Almost like it’s not actually a solid economic theory built on evidence and just a weak justification for pure greed designed to throw people off legitimate outrage.

To be fair he did visit him yesterday.

Friday according to the news.
Though when you've got a very ill relative in hospital long term you do get to the point where you can't go every day so I can understand that.

And I wasnt busy trying to trash the postal system and the thwart democracy when I was doing it!

Some really crass comments on social media in regards to the death of his brother, all in poor taste really.
The very people engaging in this, claim to be of higher morality... Which I find somewhat odd

Agree to a degree .
But he has shown form on this himself ,I guess it goes with the territory.
Thinking of people who served their country specifically.
It's unpleasant from either direction.
And as we've all remarked recently SM is poison.
Something that needs tackling.
