Well you're going to have a lot to complain about in a month or two. Not counting the pardons Trump gave in his first term.

I fundamentally disagree with Biden's decision, but I think he was caught between a rock and a hard place. I think he could see that his son could be at the mercy of Trump and his cronies in the judicial system and get absolutely shanked, so wanted to protect his son from what would likely be disproportionate punishment.

However, he does deserve some punishment and the decision to pardon him has basically just given Trump open season to do the same, but on a far larger scale, and every time just shout 'Biden'.

It was a lesser of two evils and I think he's chosen the wrong one because his desire to protect his son has come before the danger he has put the whole country in by doing so.

I thought he was due to be sentenced before Trump comes in? I assume the timing was to prevent sentencing.

This is not new btw, seem to remember Clinton and others doing this.

Stating multiple times that you would not, plus of course the gun issue and of course making it so broad is different.

Said no one in Tower Hamlets, ever.
Yep, same deal here, and of course there is no way of really knowing.

They used to say they would check if you look under 30 then 40 and now it is everyone. How many people who look over 40 are under 21? And scan it?

Jacob Rees Mogg openly admitted that the UK laws on this were designed to boost the Tory vote.

Trump will be pardoning himself soon enough. His reaction to Boden is faux outrage and hypocrisy.

How on earth did America get a man on the moon. They are as thick as pigshit based on their electoral choices.

If Trump pardons himself then he will lose aura. Not sure his ego will allow him that. Let’s see. In the meantime it’s irrelevant conjecture to obfuscate clear Democrat dishonesty. That’s that.

WRT getting to the moon, the US beat the USSR using technology and flight log data they’ve since lost, and returned via a lander made from incredible looking advanced materials. There are mirrors planted on the moon before they went that proved they went there. Some idiots believe that the USA didn’t go. Those people are morons for even questioning it.

Of course they got a man on the moon.

WRT to Hunter Biden’s laptop, it was all false information, 51 intelligence officials signed a letter.

The US government always tells the truth.

Quite possibly - it would obviously be an outrage if they were used today.
Didn’t the Queen go into the courtroom and stop the case against Diana’s former butler in living memory. There was some ancient protocol that kicked in IIRC but I CBA to dig it out.

Anyway, I believe there are some royal trump cards still.

I most certainly am. You’ve made a quite bold claim, the burden of proof is on you.

Voter fraud does exist, and was proven in Tower Hamlets.

Tinfoil hat truth denialism does exist and is evident in Brighton.

The burden of proof is on you to prove otherwise.

Top luck with that.

Instances of voter fraud in the US or here occur at a minuscule rate that does not justify voter ID laws. In the US they are the preserve of Republican states trying to suppress the votes of groups likely to vote Democrat. In one notorious example Texan attorney general Ken Paxton openly bragged about rejecting huge numbers of postal ballots in 2020 in order to secure the state for Trump.

The Conservatives passed ID laws here and even admitted that gerrymandering was the thinking behind it.

It’s a self-defeating paradox to say that voter fraud is difficult to prove when there is no guardrail.

It’s 2024. There’s no good reason to stop voter ID being used unless you want to cheat.

He won't give a fuck. And sadly neither will his fanbase. They'll see it as perfectly justified because it was a witchhunt etc.

Probably, but that isn't necessarily the end of the process is it.

What's to stop prosecutors asking for an appeal over the sentencing when Trump is in power, and making that punishment way more severe?

Tories wanted to implement voter ID being used in order to cheat.

Ok. Yes. Right.

You win.

Such logical structure of the point in question has enabled me to see the error of my ways.

The Tories wanted to get implement voter ID so that they could cheat. It’s clear now. So obvious when you think about it.

“Deserves some punishment”.

Not necessarily.

Deserves thorough, open, transparent investigation.

If there’s only minor stuff - that’s that.

But come on, even the most deranged Democrat apologists on here know that there’s some seriously dodgy stuff that’d be uncovered.

Their response: “dribble dribble BuT TrUMp…”

Moonbats.

Christ. Is there a conspiracy theory you won't fall for? Hunter's case had a thorough investigation, he admitted guilt.

Yet here you are, banging on about 'Democrat apologists' whilst right in front of you is the rank hypocrisy of the people who whine about Biden pardoning his son, whilst supporting what Trump has already done in a much bigger and more dangerous way. (With more to come!)

@SIR ERNIE can't even answer a straight question about it because he knows it'll expose him as a gurning idiot (more so).

It figures that someone who thinks they can uncover a Democratic conspiracy to steal the previous election would fall for this kind of bollocks. What next, flat earth? QAnon?

You claim to be intelligent, try a bit of critical thinking, and maybe do some research using actual news websites rather than Twitter and Facebook.

Rhys-Mogg in his own words.

Electoral Commission, independent report. No evidence of wide scale voter fraud, ergo no obvious reason for voter ID, except perhaps political.

Try a bit of research, eh.

Hunter admitted guilt to some minor crimes.

The Burisma case needs to be investigated in the same thorough way as say, Trump apparently inflating the value of his property to gain loans. What Trump did in Allowing his staff to value Mar-a-Lago at more than $18m was thoroughly corrupt and he should be imprisoned.

Hunter was an energy expert and being employed at $1m USD per year in Ukraine is not at all suspect and there is no need to question this. His dad demanding that he of firing Ukrainian corruption investigators else Billions would be withheld is not worth looking into either. The Biden family have nothing to hide, so pardoning Hunter from anything since 2012 is perfectly fine.

Yep.

It’s all ok. “tRumP bAd, bIDen gOoD”

Looking for the cheat bit. Looking hard. Nope.

Gain an advantage using legal means is not cheating.

You know, like choosing which end to kick off from if the sun is low when winning the toss. Is that cheating?

Try again, please stop me thinking you are absolutely absurd….

Please…

The CHEATING bit….? (waiting)

Right.

But you said it’s because the Tories wanted to cheat. That’s a totally different thing.

I’m not calling you an “imbecile”, I’m asking you politely to show where Tories are trying to cheat.

Else, you just confirm what I already suspected about you. Which is a shame.

Waiting.

In the same way giving votes to 16 year olds isn’t cheating but is clearly being looked at for political advantage

The whole “it’s bit as bad as Trump” is just bizarre.

If it’s wrong it’s wrong.

It’s like saying Dennis Neilson isn’t so bad - i mean look at Jeffrey Dhamer!
