The fact he's actually playing more as he gets older is testament to the way the club's been mismanaged over the past few seasons. While he has his uses, starting a game as the main striker shouldn't be one of them. Giving him a big cheer as he goes off does nothing for anyone though.

Or maybe the managers tactics and team selections are not good enough

A few relevant sayings:
1) Two wrongs (or in this case four wrongs) rarely make a right. I agree they are not good enough, but maintain that the players also fall short.
2) You can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear.
3) You can't polish a turd (although a capable manager might make be able to roll it in glitter).

I don't think Tudgay has been as bad as made out, much worse players to be picked out.

Was a bit confused by the cheer when he went off.

Think he is a lot better than some
Would make out - the problem is who do you pick instead of him? A hugely unfit yak, g.thomas? When played up top never looks like scoring? His goals have come from playing on right. K.Thomas maybe but only just got fit. Also think with this squad we had to play 4-4-2 with two strikers and two wingers. Playing one up top this year has clearly not worked.

Beavon and K Thomas up front I'd say.

Tudgay is quite a clever player, just doesn't have the legs now.

Football is simple folks. Team isn't good enough, manager isn't good enough, owners aren't good enough. That's why we are bottom.
