Part of the team that conceded 5 goals against Sheffield United in the semi final?he has potential and played alot better under robins at end of season. also was part fo swindon team that made playoff final in league 1?
think he can more than do a job in league 2 and a player we wouldnt need to replac eif we did get promoted. hope he stays
short termism has got us to where we are now. We need a team / squad who can develop and grow, replacing a handful every season, not the entire team every 12 months
Considering the long ball is likely to feature more in league Two, there would be an argument that Turnbull could once again struggle next season with us. His clearance ability is nothing short of appalling. A number of goals last season were the fault of him and I've heard from reputable sources that managers such as Venus were appalled by his performances and themselves questioned his ability and work ethic. Makes me think do we want that kind of player in the squad when its crucial we get back up next season.
Some of his attempts at clearances angered me.
My dog can kick the ball further, they were half arsed attempts that sliced the ball up in the air.

TM signed people like Andre Wright for a reason but that doesn't make them good. We need players that can get us out of this league at the first time of asking and with the wages he's on, we could get any old lump that would do just as good a job as him.doesnt change the fact that he was part of swindon team that made l1 playoffs does it?
tm would have signed him for a reason, think he could do alright for us if he stays, still young and can take on board MR feedback.
if he goes as long as we get compo and robins can replace it is not end of the world. but i would like to keep him and add 1 more cb to ensure the squad has 4

He was so bad, signing the ghost of Jimmy Greaves would have been more use.In Wright's case, the sole reason we got him in was 'the deadline's in five minutes and we've got nobody else in shit shit shit shit'
any old lump can deal with league 2 strikers apparently though?

While I agree completely with the sentiment, this was not Robins' squad, the team has just been relegated and was a defensive shambles for most of the season. Robins is now signing players on 2 year contracts. Next year we should have the core of the (hopefully promotion winning) squad retained.Have signed in specifically to 'like' this. Replace a handful every season, no more, otherwise it's just tossing all the cards back up in the air and waiting to see how they fall, every single season. The results are predictably poor, the manager will get the chop and off we all go again.
Hi everyone, I've been a reader of this forum for a couple of years, and a sky blue fan since the days of Gordon Milne.
As I'm at a loose end today (random day off). I thought I'd sign up and offer my services.
I'm offering (free of charge). To personally gift rap Turnbull in nice shiny paper, put a big ribbon bow around him, and deliver him to any football club (league or otherwise) in the land.
He was afterall part of the worst Coventry city defence in the last 50 years (and we've had a few bad ones). If getting rid of him frees up enough wages to bring in another player, then I'm all for it, and I'm willing to bet, whoever comes in, will prove to be a better acquisition.
Yes fatso. Excellent first post. Welcome.Hi everyone, I've been a reader of this forum for a couple of years, and a sky blue fan since the days of Gordon Milne.

Not for sure. No idea if hes played league 2 before but i would be certain you have never see him play in league 2.
He has shown in brief glimpses he can bsttle hard. If MR can get hom doing that every game thrn we have a big player 4 us
Afteral robins hasnt said go find sum nre club like it seems he has to reid.
He's not played in league two as of yet.
However I did see enough of his poor performances last season to form a opinion of him as a player.
If you take last seasons games against league two opposition tho
2 games v morecambe, 2 goals conceded
2 games v Wycombe, 3 goals conceded
V Cambridge 4 conceded
With only 1 clean sheet v Crawley
Ok It's not the best guide to gauge him solely as there are plenty of variables, but he was part of a team that let in 9 goals in 6 games against league 2 opposition. That's one clean sheet in 6 games. Not the sort of average goals per games ratio that will see you have a good season in league two.

Tottaly take your point but yoi know how i see lqst season. Who were his managers for those games?
Can be different player this season
Ohhhhh noooo don't get saying that you know who will be along nowI think Turnbull is replaceable. Perhaps the most replaceable of those who are out of contract/contain get-out clauses in their contracts. In all honesty I'm shocked that clubs such as Bradford and Charlton are in for him. His abilities are best suited to League Two, something that was shown time and again last season.
The issue with Turnbull that was repeatedly apparent was that he needs a top class CB alongside with him. Therefore, I wouldn't personally want to take the risk on him next season as the last thing we need is dead weight. Yet another poor acquisition by Mowbray. Out with the old in with the new I say.
Is it the Easter Bunny?Ohhhhh noooo don't get saying that you know who will be along now
Your comment about Willis I think he is a quality player who we must try and hold on to if Turnbull goes as I think he will , get the best player you can but as for quality player cream rises to the top and any one worth their salt wont want be playing in the div. 2.I hear what you say, But for me I'd sooner get rid of Turnbull and Willis, and let Robbins bring in 1 quality player, and push Harris up the pecking order.
For what it's worth I'd get rid of most of last years dead wood, and try to transform the whole ethos of the club. I want to see a bit more fight and battle from our players next year, not players (like Turnbull) whose head dropped whenever we conceded.
