Nope. He said it, he needs to deal with it. If Jones- who’s done fuck all wrong and gets told his career is basically over- needs to have a thick skin then so does this guy.
It's in his hands to prove him wrong and I hope he does.

Imagine if there was an article made about every negative comment from every football fan every week.

What I don't get is why there is no backlash when people are slating other players every week?

Maybe it’s because the post was out of the blue (not necessarily from him), but to pick out a player he tips to be in non league soon, and include the #pusb. It’s close season too. He got what he wanted in a reaction, he just couldn’t face it. A bit different to, say, a player having a stinker and being called out for playing shit. Just as unfair, but still feel its the abruptness of it.

Different thing entirely, Jones hasn’t even played after injury and he’s being told he’ll be rotting in non league soon.
You do realise that some lad on Twitter giving it the big one isn't the knee specialist? I could say you are going to get kicked in the face by a cow tomorrow..... It doesn't mean it's happening.

It's exactly the same but bakayoko has had worse.

The bandwagon with our fans is embarrassing.

So glad I don't deal with Facebook or Twitter all of it is a load of bollocks and full of attention seeker's

Yes he is entitled to an opinion, for a so called Coventry City supporter to express such a view suggests he is a prick. To those defending him imagine if an opposing fan had made such a statement?
Why is he a prick? I don’t get it? Just because his view doesn’t agree with yours? I bet you don’t even know him 😂

He didn’t message the player directly and had an opinion, which he’s entitled too.

Have a day off. There is a world of difference between a fan making a comment about a player on social media and a pile on, aided and abetted by the media

Maybe so- ultimately he posted it, wrote Jones’ entire career off, came across a twat in doing so, so he will need to deal with whatever the CET is up to.

But Bakayoko doesn't sign shirts and play Fifa online with fans on twitch!

As I keep saying, people write players careers off every single week. Why no outrage if it's Bakayoka, Burge or Hiwula?

It's not a news story.

I’m not saying it is. But he posted it, he looked an idiot to the point where even other players got involved, so he needs to take what comes back. He’s responsible for all this, nobody else.

So you can't see an issue with a news paper making a story out of it?

Very weird, I guess the bandwagon rules heads. I miss the "we are the majority" days

The Telegraph article is taking things too far, I mean is one fan's unpleasantly worded criticism/schadenfreude really a story or is today just a slow news day?

However, some people don't get that posting on social media is the same as standing in the street and bellowing your thoughts to the world. I doubt he would have spoken the same words to Jones' face.

I don’t care what the CET get up to. They are over the top putting a story up on it, but bottom line is he posted it. You’re usually big on people taking personal responsibility, not sure whats different here, say something like that on twitter telling people they’re finished and you need to be able to handle what might come back. It’s that simple.

That posted before I intended, but the point stands and thats why I consider Dave and his silly moustache a twat. He's entitled to his opinion the same as I am to call him a c**t. He could have left it at he didnt think Jodi would make it rather than the rotting away in non league bile.

The same reason why you called him a c**t not an idiot or a less offensive term.

Was reading to the end so I didn’t say the same thing. Exactly this, he might have got more than he ‘deserved’ but if you post on twitter, particularly if you use a hashtag like #pusb then players and lots of fans are going to see it. That’s the point. Didn’t tag him but that hashtag is the next best way of getting a player’s attention.
It was done to get a reaction, it got one. His own bed he has to lie in.

Fair play to JJ for his reaction. Motivation, I think he feels he has a point to prove this season, and I’m sure this kind of thing drives him on.

Lots of thoughts pass through one's head about situations. Most never get uttered. Some get spoken, and some you come to regret. But to post on twitter, Facebook, or on here, you have time to stop and reconsider before you commit.

If only you'd considered the this post first I'd have to saved time I'll never get back :)

People seem to confuse attention seeking with having an opinion. Having an opinion would imply there’s a debate to be had, but you can clearly see he doesn’t want to debate.
Embarrassing for the telegraph to run a story on it though.

Yeah, I don't get the big deal over the CT article. There's no story at all if Jones doesn't rise to it - that's why we're all posting about it in the first place after all.

In the same way that it's not a story that someone at a game shouted abuse at Eric Dier, but it is if he responds by climbing into the stands to go after the guy. This is just an ultra-tame version of that.

Same way there’d be an article if Bakayoko signed up for this website and argued his case, or Biamou signed up and got in a slanging match with Grendel

Good evening - first of all, nice one to Coco and Purplebin who I know personally and are both good lads.

I never thought I’d be making an account on this and I won’t be staying around it would cut in to my hobbies but I was sent a link to this thread and while I’m on break at work I thought I’d reply.

I can’t comment on every post on here because I can’t remember them all however I’ve seen people say “He posted it on purpose for attention and a reaction” I can assure you I didn’t, I was literally in bed, I had a chat in a group chat last night and someone asked what I thought about JJ - which obviously got me thinking and then I tweeted what I did. It’s an opinion. It’s not right it’s not wrong. It is what it is.

Did I tag Jodi in the tweet? No. Could it of been worded better? Maybe, however I’m not writing a book for publishing it’s just a random tweet with my opinion.

Am I bothered about the abuse people have given me on twitter? No. Am I bothered about CovLiveWasps article? No. Do I think it’s over the top? Yes.

For the lads on here who have stuck up for me nice one -to the ones who have been abusive and calling me names, I feel terrible I’m living in your head rent free.

Tommo93 forgot to mention that he admitted on twitter he doesn’t know me so keep my name out your mouth pal. Alright?

Listen I said on twitter and I mean it, I hope Jodi proves me wrong.

Now let’s wait for this nonsense to blow over and hopefully we can get a striker in before the season #PUSB
