Thought it may be useful to have a match thread of its own (like Arsenal FAYC game) as seems quite a lot of supporters are planning on attending.

CCFC v Shef Weds U18s tomorrow in the semi-final, noon kick off at Alan Higgs Centre, free entry. Winner of the tie will play either Charlton or Shef Utd in the final. This game is just one leg, so extra time and penalties could follow if there isn't a winner after 90/120 mins. CCFC have won 16 out of last 17 games but SWFC beat us 3-0 earlier in the season so it's finely poised.

Expect Jason Farndon to go with the following side:

Skuza

Hickman
Ford
Thompson
Camwell

Bayliss
Eccles

Stedman
Finn
Smith

Ponticelli

Great performance today. Lovely goals and build up. CCFC far too strong for SWFC in the first half but they came back into it in the second half. A good 300 spectators there.

Sheffield United won their semi-final against Charlton on Friday night so it's CCFC v SUFC in the final. Believe it's going to be played next Saturday but time and location TBC

Is it likely to be neutral ground or will it be at one of the teams home grounds?

Yes at Ricoh or Bramall Lane, find out Monday. Actually might be a Friday if at Bramall Lane that's when they played Charlton in the semi-final and they have a first team game at Bramall Lane on the Sunday

I though't they'd won their league already? Is this to make it a league and cup double or is there some American style playoff at the end of the season?

That's correct but the play-off games are to decide a national winner. So we played the second best North team yesterday and we won 3-1 now we have to play the best North team in the final Sheffield United to decide a national winner.

Yesterday it was evident to me that CCFC players looked stronger and were better equipped for a physical battle. Likes of Ford, Thompson, Camwell, Bayliss and Ponticelli have been playing regularly in the 23s as scholars getting experience against professional footballers and the benefits show when they drop down to back to U18 level.

Did Sheffield Utd finish top of there group if not we should have home advantage, Can also see a game like this being played at St. George's park

Yes they did. The two clubs find out tomorrow who's at home. It's being played at the Ricoh or Bramall Lane as far as I know, it has to be played at first team ground under regulations I think

The final will take place at Bramall Lane, confirmed. Not ideal, I'm sure they would have preferred it at the Ricoh, but CCFC will have some backing there still as seen a few posters with locations in Sheffield or near.

Date and time TBC

So is there any chance of promotion to the Premier League next season or will we just continue in the development league?

Quite happy about this as I'm one of those up north. Will keep an eye out for date/time. Let us know if your hear when it is.
