The Sky Blues Under-23s are back in Sheffield this afternoon, as they take on the Owls in Professional Development League action.

City suffered a narrow defeat to Sheffield United last time out, but today they are looking to bounce back with three points against Wednesday.

Ahead of kick-off, Luke Tisdale has made two changes to the side that faced the Blades.

Cian Tyler is back between the sticks as he replaces Tom Billson and with Morgan Williams suspended, Jordon Thompson makes his return to action.

JT has been out with an injury for the last few months, but this afternoon he starts in the heart of defence for the Sky Blues.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2pm and there will be live updates, as well as post-match reaction from Tisdale.

Starting Xl: Cian Tyler (GK), Blaine Rowe, Jack Burroughs, Jordon Thompson, Joe Newton, Jonny Ngandu (C), Josh Eccles, Jordan Young, Wesley Jobello, Will Bapaga, David Bremang.

Jobello is a funny one. We don’t tend to let players rot in the U23s, the likes of Baka and Pask aren’t playing there, yet he gets regular games. Wonder how he fits in right now.

Maybe he is struggling to get up to full speed so they think he might be better off getting full 90 mins here than sitting in the bench and maybe coming on after 70 minutes.

I've just realised that Young is still only 21. Any regular u23 watchers that think he could kick on at all?

Really rate Jordan Young. Seen him a few times when I could get to ryton and watch. Always looks head and shoulders above the rest, I wonder what the hold up with him is

I think because of COVID all the under 23’s are training at the Higgs away from ryton , I think because of restricting numbers jobello could be training with the under 23 hence why he is playing
