Looks like there is going to be additional security for that as well, I guess it's needed and always better to be safe than sorry!

How long until the armed police (if they have them) get tired of drunken wisecracks or posing for pictures?

Can someone please give me the exact location, price and time so I can make sure I am somewhere else completely when the concert starts.

It's only 3 of the original band-think the others are doing a gig in Birmingham the same weekend!o_O

Yeah, Ali Campbell originally left and went solo, then two others joined him and they tour as 'UB40 featuring Ali, Astro and Mickey' while the rest also tour as UB40 at the same time. I can't imagine they sound right without Ali so he's the proper UB40 really.

Also, they have the best merch - Red Red WIne by UB40

I doubt there will be armed police there tbf Nick. And if they are there it'll be low key and you won't even notice unless they're called upon/needed which I hope to God won't be the case!

The last major concert we had here was in the 1980s and there were police vans stretching from one end of Windsor Street to the other "just in case". I don't imagine it'll be any different tomorrow except for the police being joined by fire engines, ambulances and bomb disposal officers.

The last major concert was in the 80s? So Bon Jovi, red hot chilli peppers, pink, take that, Muse, Oasis, Rihanna, Kings of Leon!
They don't count as "major concerts"?

There is on thing have a large police presence, and a completely different thing having armed police at a pop concert! I'd be VERY surprised if any armed police are on show tonight. As a country we pride ourselves on not having all police armed and as of yet were one of the only countries to not of used the Army on our own streets (looks as though that is changing though, long a slippy road in my opinion, but that's for another day)! To have a "show of strength" is only inviting trouble, the exact reason all coppers don't carry weapons already.

Someone I know is down there-they are doing very extensive bag searches. I was also out this afternoon and there was armed police in Stratford town centre.

But interesting to note, I went to the Belgrade tonight to see Spamalot and there were no bag checks at all.

Bit surprised, because I was most certainly expecting something. Would have thought any theatre or venue holding a large audience would be doing so.

To be quite honest I would have thought a show like that would be an ideal target. A section about a gay character and very camp in places, Christian crusades, possible blasphmey (Eric Idle appearing as God) etc.
