He doesn't press, slows the ball down when in posession, got near nothing in the air.

Jota would be much better starting upfront.

He's scored 12 in his last 11 games for Portugal , jota has scored 14 ever for Portugal

Imagine if England played with that desire and attacking intent of those two teams, we'd be incredible.

Instead we sit back and muster a single shot on target against a far weaker team.
We play tippy tappy football where possession is paramount .
I'm glad to see this nonsense we have to suffer in the prem and championship where goal kicks have been replaced by two defenders in the six yard box waiting to walk the ball out of the box is largely missing so far in this competition. Thank god.

It's not , because 99% of international games for top teams already against weaker sides .. fact is ronaldo is still scoring goals for Portugal, jota has 14 in 39 matches
It is valid even if you think it isn't. If you can't see that Jota would add more fluidity to the Portugal team then so be it.

Portugal completely in control here , Czech republic look poor
Surprised to hear so many of their squad still play in the Czech league. I remember when they had some real quality players.

Well why do football men keep picking ronaldo risking their own jobs ? Not even entirely sure what ronaldo has done wrong here tbh besides not arrive for 1 great ball

Incredible that Pepe is still playing international football at the age of 41.

If football men wanted Ronaldo he’d still be playing in Europe

He's playing for his country in an international tournament and starting at 39 after scoring 28 goals in his last 37 internationals .. we won't be dropping harry kane whilst he's throwing up numbers like 31 goals in his last 41 games for England ( who against ?)

You could see it shift.

Said the the missus that the frustration was building and the Czechs - who went from thinking they would lose 5-0, to going in at half time at 0-0 - suddenly got some belief.

@Esoterica hope you are watching!

I think they've struggled against the back 5 whilst playing 1 striker , the wide players need to come inside further IMHO or play 2 uptop
The line up at the start had them playing a 2 up top, but youre right Leao was playing so wide Ronaldo was on his own, and majority of the time he wasn't even in the box.
