Some twat has now smashed up the camper we were going to hire so I've just sorted an apartment in Duisburg for a fortnight.

Seems a reasonable base give that whole area is basically one huge city with great transport links.

Just need to sort something for a night or two in Frankfurt.

I don’t watch, or have much interest in non-Euro/WC England games, but I honestly don’t understand how people can’t get excited for big tournaments like the Euros.

The feeling of non-football fans, fans of different clubs and the whole nation getting swept up in football fever (yes it’s cliche but I don’t care) is pretty unique.

Plus, it’s a brilliant excuse for a social with your mates. I enjoy it even more so as the majority of my mates aren’t that bothered about football or support different teams, so it’s a good chance to get invested in games together.

It doesn’t mean I prefer England to Cov, and I get much more excited and passionate about our games, but supporting England at competition time is still pretty special.

I got the last 2 flights tickets from Ryanair departing Birmingham international for £51 (at that price) on the 19th. It was a real spur of the moment thing after 2 beers. Some mates of mine are flying out from Manchester on the 20th or 21st June for about the same price.
Nuts, that is a good price.

I've been toying with buying a camper van for the summer. The missus wants to tour Scotland for a week... Maybe I'll take her to Germany instead!

Don't think there is as good of a chance of us winning this tournament than people are making out tbh

Seriously worried about our defence and off the top of my head I can't name any side who have won an international tournament with a better attack than they had defence - Maybe Argentina at the last WC but that is because they had one of the best players to kick a ball spearheading them

I'll wager some money that these people who scapegoat Harry Maguire constantly will be eating some humble pie by the end of July

Well Cov don’t play any fixtures that actually matter while international tournaments are going on so there is literally zero need to choose between the two 👍
If offered at the start of the season us being promoted or England winning the Euros I would have chose England every time

However if you'd have offered me the other month we won the FA Cup or England Euros I would take the FA Cup

As you say tho, pointless argument - the two aren't mutually exclusive and anyone who actively wants us to do badly is a wannabe scouser in my opinion :ROFLMAO:

The England side tonight i think is very solid , but if I'm honest I'd rather a player like Wharton next to rice if Gareth won't play bellingham next to him .. I'd imagine bellingham will play the 10 behind kane and foden will play left side instead of Gordon at the tournament

Reckon we try to fit Palmer, Foden and Saka in those AM, RW and LW roles. Palmer floating between the lines and swapping with Foden. Eze as a super sub.

Bellingham and Rice in the 4 and 8 roles, I’m just not convinced with Mainoo or TAA in CM and it’s too soon for Wharton imo.

Mainoo is a brilliant CM and why would not play the worlds best 10 at number 10?

Think I’d find it difficult to play with rhythm during a flat atmosphere like this. Snooze fest

Great future, not convinced it’s his time this tournament and he’s got caught in no one’s land a few times today. Likewise with TAA on Monday.

Mainoo is not better than Palmer, Foden, Saka in any case.

Wembley tonight is a bit like what the king power would be like if someone forgot to order the clappers

Bellingham? Okay fella
Well in April

Real Madrid voice worries on Jude Bellingham's form - report

And it's 6 goals in 2024 now and a no show in the champions league knockouts

Half a good season at 10

But it was some half a season to be fair.

Bellingham should play as an 8 next to rice with the freedom to play forward , foden should play 10

I reckon Palmer should play 10 and Foden LW. Whichever set up, they’ll all rotate around because they’re all creative players.

To support Bellingham at 8, he and Rice played well against France together in a 4-3-3 so that’s an option.

Duisburg is an absolute shit hole. Bad luck.

Maguire being out is a big blow. I’d have taken Branthwaite over Dunk personally but I think it will be Stones and Guehi as the first choice back two now.
Bang on the money. There aren’t many bad decisions this time around but I think that is one of them.
