It could be the twenty pints of Limoncello I've had, but I really like the way this Italian team are playing. There's a sort of swagger and belief that makes you feel like they could do something exciting at any point.

It's tournament football - It brings out the best in some.

I only tuned into 2nd half as was out for dinner. Didn’t really get the love in from the pundit team and felt that had England put in a similar performance tomorrow, the mood wouldn’t be quite so cheery.

Before the tournament, I felt Italy would win their group and felt that Spain looked quite vulnerable defensively against Croatia. Again, only caught the second half and on that evidence, 3-0 seemed a generous score line.

Over to England tomorrow and after the Iceland result, a strong opener against Serbia is what the doctor ordered. I’m going to optimistic and predict a 3-0 win and hope the big calls Southgate will make pay off.

Like the look of Holland’s lineup, even without de Jong. Xavi Simons is top class, and Gakpo had a really good World Cup in Qatar. Maatsen’s on the bench.

Lewandowski injured so not sure about Polands forwards, except for Szymanski who’s pretty decent. Zielinski probably their best player.
