Underrated players (10 Viewers)

I get the feeling this will end up a troll thread, but seriously...
Stern John
Dele Adebola
Currently feel Sakamoto is slightly underrated, he has some off games sure but people turn on him quick. Offers something different to anyone else and is one of the most exciting wingers in the division on his day. The kind of play you love to see but is being coached out of modern players.

Adebola was one of my favourite players. That goal at Blackburn in the Cup…

Adebola, John, McSheffrey was entertaining stuff.
McSheffrey might come under underrated too tbh, not at the time so much but now he doesn't get spoken about much when talking about old players (and don't get me wrong I hate where he moved to) but he was fucking quality.

He was great before he moved. When he came back he was shite.

McSheffrey 1.0 was superb, the 2.0 version was gash which is probably why he gets overlooked.

Picking some from the dark years - Stephen Elliot, i always thought he was good and looked after the ball well. Never got much of a chance.

Nouble, that team was so crap and not capable of providing any excitement except for him. His off the ball work wasn't great but at times at least provided some excitement with the odd bit of skill and power.

Stokes during the mowbray season was quality. Feel like he gets forgotten about due to murphy, kent, armstrong etc.

Sordell, that relegation season was soul destroying stuff. He was one of the only half decent players we had the first part of that season. Trading him for beavon pretty much was the nail in the coffin for me.

Paul Telfer, and its a hill I'm prepared to die on.
If he's in his car you probably will.

Edit: appreciate that's a bit crass on its own, so I should elaborate.

As a young player at Luton he killed someone in his car, no idea if dangerous or drunk or anything else, but the guy in the other car died and his team mate never played again.

If you'd had an experience like that, even driving again you'd think tough, but Noel Whelan was telling a story about how he got pulled for drink driving after a Christmas party and Telfer went past him and the police etc also drunk. The room was loving the story, but now knowing about the previous incident has him down as a bit of a grade A c*nt imo.

Surely that means he’s underperforming but not underrated. Currently it would be hard to underrate him.
I guess I mean that many fans currently see Collins as totally unplayable, to the extent that our season is over if he does. Personally I doubt he’s really that bad, and indeed he’s shown in the past that he can be a serviceable keeper at this level.

Maybe not underrated but I thought at the time Aaron Phillips would have a ‘better’ career than he has.
Seemingly turning out for St Ives at the moment. Still, it’s a nice place.
Presuming you are referring to St Ives, Cornwall

Aaron Phillips plays for the St Ives in Cambridgeshire 😆
