I'm opinionated and I don't shy away when I defend my views, I see things, an form opinions from that.
Last season, 4-4-2 didn't shit us, the results showed it, as I had stats to back myself up. Last season, Wilson didn't look like he was capable of playing at L1 standard, SP said he did start to regret offering Wilson a contract and said he'd have ripped it up after a preseason game, so clearly it was a massive risk which had paid off massively! I don't see what goes on the training ground only on match day, where he was frankly, rubbish, bar a goal v Colchester. I've also said I was wrong.
But since you want to bring up misjudgements I've made, I'll say where I've been proven correct:
- I had faith in SP and made a thread soon after his appointment saying why I think he'll do well. I also stuck up for him when we weren't performing well, an idiots were saying he was 'Thorn-esque'. I said he missed L. Clarke, he needed the window to sign players and time to entrench his style, and we'd be 4th now bar a 10 pout deduction!
- I defended SP's treatment of the 'bomb squad'
- I knew Fleck would become an indispensable player for the club, I defended him throughout last season, despite idiots saying he weren't up to scratch, I remember an infamous Grendel quote saying Fleck will be 'huffing and puffing in the Scottish Second Division'.
- I said Moussa was better LM than CM, and today, in October (season ends in May, to put it into context), has equalled last seasons record of goals + assists, on the Left, an you've just tried to offer a feeble defense.
- I said, despite being shot down by many, notably BSB, plus others, that we had a playoff standard team bar a couple of players, only a CB really I felt we needed, don't get me wrong, I still feel we need a couple of players but I maintained the starting XI was good enough. Edit: managers like Slade and Robinson (MK one) aren't surprised at how well we're doing, and Slade thinks we'll make playoffs.
So you can have 4-4-2 and Wilson, but clearly, I'm the one who's got the last laugh.
