I'm opinionated and I don't shy away when I defend my views, I see things, an form opinions from that.
Last season, 4-4-2 didn't shit us, the results showed it, as I had stats to back myself up. Last season, Wilson didn't look like he was capable of playing at L1 standard, SP said he did start to regret offering Wilson a contract and said he'd have ripped it up after a preseason game, so clearly it was a massive risk which had paid off massively! I don't see what goes on the training ground only on match day, where he was frankly, rubbish, bar a goal v Colchester. I've also said I was wrong.
But since you want to bring up misjudgements I've made, I'll say where I've been proven correct:
- I had faith in SP and made a thread soon after his appointment saying why I think he'll do well. I also stuck up for him when we weren't performing well, an idiots were saying he was 'Thorn-esque'. I said he missed L. Clarke, he needed the window to sign players and time to entrench his style, and we'd be 4th now bar a 10 pout deduction!
- I defended SP's treatment of the 'bomb squad'
- I knew Fleck would become an indispensable player for the club, I defended him throughout last season, despite idiots saying he weren't up to scratch, I remember an infamous Grendel quote saying Fleck will be 'huffing and puffing in the Scottish Second Division'.
- I said Moussa was better LM than CM, and today, in October (season ends in May, to put it into context), has equalled last seasons record of goals + assists, on the Left, an you've just tried to offer a feeble defense.
- I said, despite being shot down by many, notably BSB, plus others, that we had a playoff standard team bar a couple of players, only a CB really I felt we needed, don't get me wrong, I still feel we need a couple of players but I maintained the starting XI was good enough. Edit: managers like Slade and Robinson (MK one) aren't surprised at how well we're doing, and Slade thinks we'll make playoffs.
So you can have 4-4-2 and Wilson, but clearly, I'm the one who's got the last laugh.
Wilson played about 10 games in a team that's confidence was shot, it was his first 10 games for the club and after recently coming back from a serious injury and you were ready to write him off. It was laughable tbh and as bad as those who you criticised for writing off Fleck after a season where he didn't get much of a chance
Also tbh I've never really disagreed with your opinions on Fleck, I've always believed he had the quality he just didn't really fit in with Robins. I always believed we had a more than capable starting 11 when people were predicting relegation and I didn't really disagree with much about the bomb squad so I wouldn't say you got the last laugh. But if it's that important to you we can just pretend you have.
I've acknowledged Moussa is capable of having brilliant games from the left and capable of brilliance from the left, I'd say he is our best option there currently but he also has his fair share of bad performances there also. His performances have been more consistent in an attacking central position (not central midfield as you incorrectly used in your post, more advanced than that). This is based on watching him live for a whole season in various positions, not just a 1/4 of a season in games I or you haven't seen him play. If he can eradicate the poor performances and improve his consistency from the left I may agree, tbf the whole discussion is pointless and boring anyway as the system we are now playing doesn't even use the position I'm saying he plays to a more consistent level in.
