Transfer Rumour Van Ewijk to Galatasaray (2 Viewers)

People are talking about his performances and his link up play with Saka not being what it was.
(Also Saka's performances)
At their peak last season there was an additional factor that is not present this season.
(Not banging on about him like others) But that factor is O'Hare.
The triangles and what COH did in terms movement, occupying players and his quickness in moving the ball, was a key factor in how well that side of the pitch performed at its peak last year.

He looked different class against man utd in the cup semi final if he could get back to that level bigger clubs would come looking but us being so poor this season everyone's value has plummeted

He was different gravy in that game, we switched played to him alot in that game and his first touch and distribution were phenomenal. I only honestly think he's the type of player that would find it easier in a better league. The situation with our back 4 and keeper and the fact he's probably bollockeds isn't helping him.

Galatasaray is looking for a player for the right-back position during the mid-season transfer period.

Galatasaray, which is looking for alternative names after giving up on the name Issa Kabore for now, is claimed to be interested in Milan van Ewijk, who plays for Coventry City

But let's be honest. Hes been pants this season.

If we can get 10million quid for a bloke who had 1 good season I'd be taking it. Start the summer rebuild early

Would also mean we can look to keep Haji, as Sheaf will also go for 5 or 6 million in the summer

Wouldn't be surprised to see him go. He is essentially a wing back and we now want to play 4 across the back line. Though he can be exciting going forward, as a defender he can be improved upon. I reckon anything north of £5 million and we'll take it.

Not so. He says his favourite position is right-back not wing back.

I can only see Haji staying if we get promoted, he's too good to be playing at this level much longer.

We’ve only got 1 right back but yeah let’s cash in on him, our fans…..
Never said that and I don’t think we will anyway

But there is a conversation to be had in the summer and I think the club will be reeling that they have recently lost a very lucrative sale of Sheaf and will be weary of losing out on another one

If you’re not going to take a profit on him in the next two windows then you have to be pretty convinced that we’re going to make a real go of it next season. Otherwise you’re struggling to find saleable assets elsewhere in the squad.

I agree with you. However if Milan and Sheaf (nailed on for him) go in the next 2 windows, id be pretty confident we get 1 more season out of Haji. He has 2 more full seasons on his contract
Been any noise re sheaf extending contract? Wondered wether Lampard may have changed his thinking?

CoH barely played last season …..

Will hugely disappoint me to lose him, but it will happen by the summer you’d expect. Think it may start a redesign of the defensive side of our game - given our frailty I wouldn’t be averse to playing 4 CBs across the back line a bit like Arsenal, but with the ball-playing capability to move into midfield.
Pulis the new defensive coach ?

Can’t see him wanting to move to Istanbul in the January. He may be having a bit of a lull in form right now but a lot of that is down to the mediocrity around him. We haven’t been consistent as a team and his performances only reflect that.
He will make a step up at some point but in these days of crazy prices he will fetch £8 million plus you would hope.

Even last season, one of the most frustrating players I've watched for Cov. Great recovery pace, decent passer, and actually not bad defensively, however his reluctance to take on his man, and poor crossing is an eye-sore for me. Wouldn't be averse to him moving on, but we need a top class replacement already lined up (and probably a back up too).
Can't believe our summer spending didn't include a RB and CM. It has already proved costly, with Sheaf out for the first 10 games, and MVE who's clearly needed a rest for weeks being literally the only option at RB/RWB unless we start messing with putting Lati or Eccles there. Not even a half-decent youth player available.
I like MVE, but I'm not sure he's what we need right now in a key position.

We need to keep haji at all costs.

I’d take Milan and sheaf going, on top of the Vik money and getting rid of the deadwood, should put us in a strong position

as long as Lampard controls the recruitment

The team has been pants and if your source is right, it’s probably to do with the coaching this summer.

If you’ve got 5, 6 or more of team underperforming, it’s not the players, it’s the manager/tactics/coaching and it’s still early days in FL’s tenure to make a massive impact.

How are we supposed to progress if we get rid of our best players?

There's several I'd prefer to get rid of before MVE. Bring in the players we all know we needed before the season started and take it from there. Then do the rebuild closed season. We need MVE now. I know many say he has been poor this season but he saves us nearly every game with his pace.

Many of which he was sub and a number Tats was out injured for.

The Tats / MVE combo was not all about COH in my opinion.
It’s a team effort, we’re clearly not functioning as well as last season and to me, it’s tactical / coaching.

COH hasn’t pulled up trees at Sheff U and with Rudoni having a higher goals and assist output, it hasn’t been a massive loss.

The Sakamoto-MVE has been overhyped, they had a good spell together but they’re inseparable. I could see MVE benefitting playing behind EMC who’s a lot more aggressive running at players.

MVE is at his best when he’s getting the ball in space and too often he was getting the ball in traffic on Saturday.

We seem to always do this thing where a player has to either be one of the best in the division or we should get rid. Nobody seems to consider we need squad players and backups in case of injury.
It seems to be a subject many on here struggle to understand. Of it is so easy to double your money on players everyone would be doing it.

Personally I think MVE isn't having it easy going forward because our defence is so weak without the experience needed this season.
