PLUS we're doing it without four first choice midfielders, our first choice goalkeeper has gone to sit, and our first choice RWB has forgotten how to play football.

It's amazing we're up there. Special mention for Gyokeres and Hamer, who are making the difference between mediocrity and success.

This thread is a clue to what to expect should the unthinkable happen and we make it into the PL.
We'll end up in the top six with two games to go, and people will say it was inevitable we were going to get there as Jamie Allen is a rightful balloon d'Or winner?

Tbf id never get on his case in the prem

Fully expect us to be getting whacked week in week out, anything win here or there is a bonus

TBF, it was very fragile at the time, injuries or suspensions at that time and it could have been very different, I’m not sure any of us would have quite expected where we are now but boy it’s so enjoyable.
If we all had the same opinion and agreed on everything then SBT would close down as it would be so boring.

credit where it’s due though, we have some geniuses on here remembering posts months ago, getting drunk and then quoting and posting, I cannot remember my own posts from last week.

Our product is good and productive we create chances most games and again in most games we are strong defensively, we will have better players, they can influence our better players to be better, club I look to is Brentford, apart from Ivan Toney I couldn’t name their team but they have obviously got their recruitment right, that’ll be the key.

That famous bed wetter Robins had also said around that stage that staying up would be an achievement. He had also bemoaned the late sale of Hyam without being able to sign a replacement, the raw loans we brought in compared to the previous year etc. The players’ body language in that game at Norwich was of resignation, which it never had been during his tenure.

What he’s done has been a minor miracle irrespective of where we end up at 5 pm on May 8th. And I think really the only one who credibly can claim the kudos is Paxman who stuck to his play off prediction all the way through.

Delusional nonsense that we are top 6 material isn’t at all helpful - we aren’t and that’s it.

We need to dig out results and not crow we are a great football team. This season is about survival and that’s it - Paxman thinks we are one of the best teams and that guy thinks we are the best midfield i the league

You have to challenge nonsense and if we have to lose Gyokeres in January it’s really a long hard season ahead
Fucking hell 😂

Absolute stinker there, not even the spreadsheet can get you out of that one

Recruitment in the prem will be key. Doesn't always mean spanking money at it and hoping for the best. Look how many players Forest recruited. I wouldn't want us to put ourselves in big financial shit when the inevitable relegation came. I'd almost take becoming a yoyo team for a bit build up the coffers over time improving the squad as we go.

We went 8 months without a home win

We had 0 wins in the first 10 games

We were 8 points from safety with a quarter of the season gone

We had a back line letting in 3 goals a game

We had 3 games to play when no other teams were playing, fatigue on a small squad.

I stand by it. At the time i thought we were in absolute disarray. Robins mood was downbeat, players looked disjointed and lost.

Its been a remarkable turnaround but i think grown men digging through posts saying 'ooo look what he said 8 months ago was wrong' is proper sad. Wouldn't catch me coming on here if we went down telling you all i was right
Nah you’ve had a shocker

What I love is how many people wake up on a Sunday morning and all they have on their mind is Grendel
What kind of creature was Grendel?

Image result for grendel

He is usually depicted as a monster or a giant, although his status as a monster, giant, or other form of supernatural being is not clearly described in the poem and thus remains the subject of scholarly debate.

It's not just a shit run of results, but already shit owners who'd now given up and were selling key players without replacement.

Seriously, don't underestimate the job Robins and Viveash have done in getting us up here, it dwarfs promotion from League 2, or a League 1 title. They've excelled themselves and I didn't think it was possible for them to do any better.
Or anyone else for that matter. They’re the epitome of round pegs in round holes. They’re just a good fit at our club and constantly overachieving, all things considered. During the course of all these types of threads since Robins took over certain posters have constantly pointed to certain clubs sacking a manager in the same league as us at the time and the new manager bounce. Last one that springs to mind is Lee Bowyer and Birmingham. He’s no longer manager there, they ended up finishing below us that season and the following. I struggle to think of a single appointment in all this time that was lorded as an example of why sticking with Robins was a mistake who is either still in that job or that club went on to achieve more than us. We’ve left I think all those clubs in the league we were in at the time and all those managers are either jobless or their next job meant stepping down a league. Cough cough, Kenny Jacket.

Look we’ve even got a very rare creature out indeed

Time to get the binoculars out - for those observers who are only resident of ccfc aspects of this forum Sunday morning has bought us a truly remarkable discovery and something that only occurs once a century

Almost as remarkable as the discovery in 1938 of the once thought extinct coelacanth - today on a ccfc related subject - we have proof The Lesser Spotted Tonester is still with us.

The funny thing is that you’ve started pretty much every thread looking to sack Robins and been wrong on every occasion. If you posted as regularly about football as me you’d instantly be considerably more knowledgeable about football than you are now. Me on the other hand I disagree with you regularly on the football side of things too. If I posted as regularly as you think I should on the football threads the only thing I’d achieve is showing that I understand more about football than you. You shouldn’t taunt me. I’m doing you a favour pal.

We're in big trouble as I predicted on a thread last season, our form over a more than a season's worth of games is relegation form. Where is a sustained upturn coming from?

I've got to say it's not often I look back on a terrible take of my own but this definitely is one (as was the previous post referred to). Good.

I know we have a good laugh on here and poke fun at each other, but I find this gloating all a bit next level juvenile. This isn't an ordinary story, it's a tale of grit, determination, survival - not to mention the sheer audacity to be where we are now after the start we had. Some of the best minds all thought at certain stages this season that relegation was a realistic worry. The fact we are where we are now is what makes it even more special. The 'doing a Forest' was banded around, but we are well and truly in that kind of territory now.

As far as I'm concerned, if we get promoted, everyone has a free pass on whatever they have said this season. I frankly couldn't give less of a fuck. Let's at least try and enjoy this together, shall we? What is going on at the moment is absolutely phenomenal.

I’m hardly in an exclusive club. Everyone knows more than you. I don’t even claim to be knowledgeable. I can’t and never have been able to play the game for toffee, I struggle to work out the formation most of the time while watching amongst other aspects of the game. Yet somehow I manage to get more right than you.
