It''s difficult not to have a shed load of worries for next season

Budget - unclear, but regardless SISU aren't likely to dig deep to get a player
Players we want - if they are on anybody else's radar we are likely to lose out on a) wages and / or b)our 'situation'
Squad likely to be small (remember SP wanted a small squad, full of quality)but with a bit of quality bulked out with lashings of youth and crossed fingers.
46 away games
Only plus point is (hopefully) we will start with zero points and not deducted any during the season. :thinking about:

I'm not sure if starting on zero points is a plus. It seemed to gel and motivate the squad at the start of last season.

If any player had us against another other team in the league, possible even some of the conference teams, they would not choose us. No home ground playing in front of 1000 ish home fans, playing budget being cut and will be again next season due to FFP, there are only two reasons anyone will come to us. They are not wanted by anyone else, if not why not? or for the big money we will pay them. Now the 2nd will not happen, so it will be the 1st reason. Now there will be the odd gem out there and may want to use us to stick two fingers up to other clubs, but not enough to build an entire team.

Wrong Norman. Quite apart from the fact that you haven't got a clue about where I get my tickets, get all my tickets from the opponents ticket office. Not a penny to Sisu.
You get really uppity when anyone disagrees with you, don't you. The foul mouth bile level goes up quite a bit.

Did you go to arsenal?

I'd keep hold of those 10 points mate - can't see us going into next season with a squad as strong as that we started this one. Although we said it was a great motivator, if we'd not been on minus 10. we would have still been up there when our form dipped, which would have helped with motivation during that period, maybe keeping Leon (spit) and recruiting others? All ifs buts and maybes, but don't fancy a minus 10 next season !

Norman Wisdom....
"You have given SISU far more money than many of us, you said so on this very forum."

Telling porkies again Norman. Or hallucinating. Or on drugs. Or just desperate.

Nope, you admitted to handing over cash to SISU.

Selective amnesia?

You'll have to show me where Norman. It didn't happen.
You know it & you're being very silly now.
You're a desperate figure.

"Fact is we weren't relegated and the season is based on 46 games. Can't just point to a period of poor form. No guarantee whatsoever that we will carry that poor form into the new season. Usually, new season brings new optimisim and hope.[/QUOTE]

January to May was a long time to be fairly poor, it wasn't just the loss of Clarke the player, I think there was a lack of belief in the direction of the club, the lack of quality loan signings the revolving door of generally less than average players. SP generated a cracking team spirit he will struggle to achieve this again, the -10 galvanized the team. I fear for next season the remnants of the squad is good enough, there is a good chance that further players will leave and SP's interviews about the strategy on squad building are just meaningless wastes of time. Pessimistic all the way unless there is a major change SISU go or we return to the Ricoh.

I now have this image in my head of a big unshaven bloke eating cow pies.

Do you shave using a blowtorch by any chance?

Well... I'm giving you every chance to accept gracefully that you have given SISU money.

And, worse, would do so again.

In your own world, this makes you a snivelling little weasel.

With regards to the topic of the thread, this season coming will be interesting if we haven't signed a single player which is obviously the fear of many fans..

Will we have enough to stave off relegation? I think we should, but I really hope it doesn't come to that.

Interesting season? that is putting it politely. If we don't sign any players but lose Murphy, Christie and Moussa and possibly another couple (there didn't mention Wilson for you) then after our form when Clarke left we are to put it mildly fucked! Look how we played after Christmas and with some of our best players gone, what exactly tells you we will have enough?

I could happily turn on the optimism if I tried:

We could keep Wilson, we have a decent record with Waggot/Fisher in finding strikers and spending the cash on wages to get them. What was quite frankly a tired looking midfield at times will definitely have some new additions. Willis, Philips, Haynes will all be a season wiser and Clarke will have had a season at CB. We still have Fleck and Baker who on their day can be as good as anything in this league. Also, Burge has had decent reviews and could be the next breakthrough star. We have a good record of at least 2 previously unknown players breaking through recently and Lawton and Finch have been kept on when 7 others have gone, which suggests potential. Plus Garner, Thomas and Maddison.

But I can't help but feel that it's going to be a season where the backbone of the team is lost and not replaced (again) and we will accumulate less wins that the previous season (again). Where that leaves us will probably be closer to mid table than relegation once all is said and done, assuming we start on 0 this time.
