Luton?
Exactly. What is there to a deal other than financial details!Only financial details remain... such as agreeing a fee, wages, signing on fee, image rights...
Yeah. I don't claim to be ITK and I'm definitely not but I've put 2 snippets on here recently, one was Rudoni was signing, which was back in April and the other was that Sheaf wants away but only if the right opportunity arises and a bids has been turned down.
Im only summising it was the player who turned it down. I wish I'd found.
You're a very honest poster and I don't believe you would make something up for the sake of clout, but it's all a bit convenient isn't it? I'm afraid I just don't buy that there's been a rejected bid for 15 million outright. A single figure bid, maybe, but the same price as Hamer? Even for a club with parachute payment budget - it seems extremely unlikely. If it is the case however, we should be taking it and investing it into better players, regardless of if the player in his own head thinks he's too good for a Championship club. That's a lot of money that could make us much stronger.
But with addons above that amount that we'd continue to get a cut fromI don't like the line "below the minimum release fee" more money!!!
Nobody will blame you for that.Edit: forgive me if I’ve misunderstood you. I’ve had a few after the England game…
I'm just impressed he waited til 'after'.Nobody will blame you for that.
Unless there's competition I can't see them holding out for the release fee.
Don't be surprised if he moves for anywhere between 40-80 million.
My prediction is about 60.
I wouldn't be that stunned if he went for more than the release fee. Release fee likely requires the money up front - I suspect e.g. Arsenal would want to structure it for P&S.Unless there's competition I can't see them holding out for the release fee.

If this happens quickly we could use our cut of the deal to gazump Nottingham Forest for Stamenic.
Fuck Stamenic, I’ve never wanted him and he’s really shit.

I haven't got the FA Cup Semi-Final programme to hand but it was startling how obvious he wants a move in the interview with Sheaf. I'm not surprised he turned down Luton, I guess he wants to be in the PL this coming season. For what it's worth I think Luton will be promoted again this year. They're a strong side.It definitely happened. I said at the time the source for this was more reliable than the person who told me about Rudoni but if people are sceptical that's fine.
That's why I think the player rejected it because if he was going I'm fairly sure the club would have taken the money.
He wants a move, but not just any move.
I agree we could do a lot with that money and the impact wouldn't have been the same as losing vik or gus.
Their model is to sell players on to leagues / clubs with bigger budgets, so they're not under pressure per se but it is exactly what they aim to do.He's on a 5 year contract and he's about to play Champions League football for them, they can't be under that much pressure to sell when there is a chance his stock will go even higher.
That might have been their model but they are top dogs in Portugal now and in the CL. That's going to change a lot, eg ambitions, players they can attract and not least of all budgets. If you are all about selling players, staying in and going deep in the CL can add value to all your players along with TV/prize money. Not saying he won't be off but if they ain't offered what they think he is worth then he won't be going anywhere.Their model is to sell players on to leagues / clubs with bigger budgets, so they're not under pressure per se but it is exactly what they aim to do.
Vik had just about the best season possible last year so there’s a pretty decent chance he won't better it this season… Champions League success of course could change things but it is more likely they don't make it very far. He also would need to match or better his overall total which is 43 goals and 14 assists for Sporting... an incredible season! Therefore there's a pretty strong argument that now is at peak valuation... but the difficulty is how many teams have the budget and the need for a striker.
Well, I think like us they are a selling club - just on a very different level. So they will look to sell him on for a profit and there's only a few years of the contract where they can do that, unless they tie him down again - but he'll be 27 next year which might limit his forward potential a bit. His game style is so physical and athletic that he likely has less peak years in him than say Harry Kane who moved for a huge fee at... what 29? I don't see that size of move happening for Viktor at that age. That might have been their model but they are top dogs in Portugal now and in the CL. Hope so. Hoping Gus pisses off and we get another couple of million too.Lots of noise about an agreed deal with Arsenal today. Hearing different figures ranging from 65-75m.

It’s only about £6m isn’t it? Would it make that much difference?

don't start me off again.........Would be great to see him against Premier league defences.
The story I have heard which comes from a Luton Town sponsor is that they offered 8 million for Sheaf and both the player and the club turned it down. That was last season by the way so doubt he's changed his mind but obviously I don't know his intentions but @Saddlebrains said he would only move for a better club and will stay unless any potential buyer meets the clubs valuation. It definitely happened. I said at the time the source for this was more reliable than the person who told me about Rudoni but if people are sceptical that's fine.
