Viktor Moving on (1 Viewer)

From my era, only Robbie Keane comes close to Victor, and I think big Vic has got it in my eyes.

Vik has become a class act. He shown he had it in him at City. The amount of times we lobbed balls up in his vicinity and he won them and terrorised defenders on his own. Never stopped running, incredible energy levels……legend for sure !

Where does what we got for Vik rank in all time Championship deals?

Heard a few murmurs on twitter that we had our pants pulled down by Sporting which is frankly ridiculous. We got full whack we could for a player with only 2nd tier experience
Especially as he only had 1 year left and was never going to sign a new contract.

Edit. I think Bellingham to Dortmund for £35 million is the top, closely followed by Jao Pedro to Brighton for £30 million. Only going of memory mind.

Ferdinand and the other prat rubbishing his finish, scuffed it, does it even fucking matter?? HE SCORED!!

Ferdinand did go on to say after the game how did the English clubs not sign Viktor, they have missed a trick.

The best ones are those who said he’d never be more than 3rd / 4th choice and we should offer biamou s contract ahead of him
A personal favourite of mine (which I counteracted at the time) was this. I'll spare the author's identity. Another fine example of someone getting it hopelessly wrong and projecting the same mistake onto everybody else

Gyokeres 6 Let’s be honest, this guy is entirely forgettable, and if he signed somewhere else tomorrow, not a single one of us would care

Excellent point well made. I guess you'd have to put Gordon Strachan in as well. Not as a manger mind 😅 😅

Edit. Joe cole too!!

I still can't help thinking of his loan move here, he basically bumbled around with the ball looking so clumsy. To becoming a single handed attacking force for us at times.

You have to credit Vik for being so determined to get his career going and then to become a world class striker is some doing. All from the Championship as the platform. His mentality is 1 in a million. We’re lucky he played in our shirt.
100% you have to have talent and single blooded mindedness, and big Vik has it in abundance. You've also got make good choices and also have a bit of luck, dropping down to Championship and getting 100 games under bjs belt, then choosing Sporting with a good coach allowing him to further develop away from the pressure, hyperbole and scrutiny of the PL.

This Gymores chap looks promising.

I think we should try and beat the likes of Watford and Preston to his signature. He will be a good back-up for EM-C and give us more squad depth.

We should offer Tavares and £1 million for him.

He blew that first chance though didn't he! Some would have been calling for his head - and the managers - at that point.

He picked the wrong choice once or twice also, running into blind alleys and a couple of passes which didn't come off, carry on Vik!

This is the reason we had to completely change our style of play. He did the work of 2 players regularly. As did Hamer

Clinton always bigs us up in the media fair play to him
He does but he always sounds like he knows someone who can do you 3 for 100

Can't speak highly enough of Vik. Supreme professional who has worked hard to develop his undoubted ability. Great credit to the Cov coaching team for their part in this process .Can only wish him all the best wherever he ends up. Phenomenal striker whose record speaks for itself.

Completely agree. Absolute Gent.
Played his heart out till the end for us.
Was honest about leaving, never claimed he wanted to stay knowing he didn't
Said nothing but nice things about us at the point of leaving

We knew it all along of course but last night will prove to be the night the more casual football fan started to take him seriously - you don't score a hattrick against a Pep Guardiola side and go unnoticed

You do have to look back and laugh when clubs like Burnley and Sheffield United thought they would have him from us :ROFLMAO:

There were more than a few on here who thought we’d be better off offering Biamou a new contract instead.

The crazy thing is you have to think he will get better yet because of that mentality. He has a hunger and drive that is world class.

He looked a bit raw but there was potential and he got a few goals from the bench often playing from the wing.
