The fact we got him for a million quid is hilarious. We paid the same for Freddie Eastwood
I bet Brighton are fuming

Gyokeres hasn't had any processed food, less than 8 hours sleep or skipped a day at the gym in 3 years.

Hamer has 4 pints and a kebab in Leam most Saturday night
I have a funny story similar to that.

my sister houses Wolves academy players from overseas. She has a 16 year old from Ireland currently, and when he first moved in she asked him if he had ever had fast food he said no, doesn’t drink fizzy drinks. He did say Chocolate was his guilty pleasure though, my sister replied “we all like a bit of chocolate in an evening” he replied “I only have it once a year on Christmas Day”

couldn’t be me!

I mean it sounds crazy but keep scoring and assisting the rate he does he could break into the top 5 most goal contributions in a single season

That's what sets Vik apart. Definitely has that steely Ronaldo vibe about him. Works so hard and lives so clean.

Incredible to see but I've got to say I relate more to the Gus types 🍺🥙

I remember a lot of people thinking him a decent signing.
I can imagine this place falling apart for paying 1m for a striker that failed on loan at Swansea and didn't set the world on fire on loan to us. Look at how some are trying to make out our recent success was more to do with Adi than Robins. Or underplaying how good some of our players are.

You could see he had something. The problem was working out what it was.

We were lucky to have both players at the same time. But choosing between a midfield general and goal machine is easy. Goals win games.

I actually think it was probably the majority view at the time. Personally I always thought from the start he was just what we'd needed for quite a few years. I'm not going to claim I saw a world beater in him though.
I’m sure at the time I was saying he had a bit about him and felt like I was in the minority, so yeah.

It was the majority view, mine included. Let's be honest here, he wasn't great in his loan spell by any stretch of the imagination. Well, not what we saw on the pitch anyway.

Can't remember what I said and not really bothered about internet points, but from memory I think I said something like it was a ploy between him and Robin's to underwhelme and keep his fee down but that would have been way after the fact of what was cooking!

I don't think anyone predicted that, or the impact he'd have here.

Maybe my memory is selective, but I remember the general consensus being 'decent addition to the squad', with perhaps a slight indrawing of breath over the fee.

He was decent in the latter part of the loan after gaining match fitness. That's not revisionism.

If Doug was serious about this club and wanted to win the fans back, he'd sign him.

£70mill is the reported figure, with our sell on fee it'll only be £65mill. Great bargain

Reckon we'd win the champ with him, some kids and season ticket holders playing, so we'll just sell the first team to raise the funds.

The buy back clause could be executed. You may be over cooking this? He’d need 5m /year wages. We are a ‘Not too big club’.

Listening to podcast other day and they said gyokores prob go for less than release clause and sporting know this

I rmemrbe one poster arguing with me till blue in the face that a player will never go for less than their release clause lol

Hopefully we do get the release clause triggered of course but we may have to make do with him being sold for 60m or something

If he goes for less than the release clause then I hope we still get the same money as if he did go for it. It not our fault that Lisbon break the clause

Lameries has a £50m release clause - they are there just for some legal specifics in Portugal

I might have been listening to the same podcast but I also heard there was gentleman's agreement with Sporting to let him go for 80 mill Euros.

Wait, are you suggesting we re-sign Gyokeres?!
