Wouldn't surprise me if one player already had another club to move to on January 1st, especially going on his recent performances looking like he doesn't want to get injured.

I expect we play at a stadium in our home city, where the club themselves agree. That if we agree the rental deal we would make more money and the players then stay.
What do you expect?

Or as a equity company are you saying they didn't know about it when they signed it when they took the club over. They must have believed it was a good deal surely or why accept it?

They didn't sign it, it was a pre-existing contract. Are you saying it was a good deal?

Am I the only one who remembers that they said players will be sold if a decent offer comes in. Surely that applies to every team, regardless of owners. I think what was meant before was that no one will be flogged on the cheap.

But, hey... If it's a chance to call Tim Fisher a liar then yeah... the swines.

No they have always said it has to be a ridiculous offer.

( for me ridiculous would be 5 times someone's value)

Maybe at the end of this thread I will know what Waggot actually said....

“We possibly could anticipate offers coming in but we have spoken about it, myself and Steve Waggott, and we really have no intention of selling any of the squad unless an offer that we can’t refuse comes in,” said Pressley. “Like every club, and I include the top clubs, every player has a valuation so if we received a ridiculous offer for one of our players then, of course, we’d have to consider it.

Same as every other football club in the country every player has a price. The irony is sisu are probably the only owners who have not profited from transfers at the club. They have sold less than an average of 2 players a season for a significant fee. This thread is embarrasing.

So what is a descent Offer anyway?
I would expect from there other transactions. It will be an undisclosed fee,

So we may never know.

I thought he spoke pretty well until like every sisu employee interview he mentions ACL cost us 10 points

They are still worried people may blame them for some of this mess we are all in?

There right thou on that account I blame them for all of it.

Because Waggott never said previously that any decent offer would be accepted. But they would listen to any ridiculous offer or words to this effect. Have some on here suddenly got Joy's memory?

I would say that hardly anyone has a problem with players being sold. Players get sold, released and also run their contracts down. What most of us have a problem with is players not being replaced. This is the main reason we got relegated. When it looked like we had a decent chance of getting to safety they loaned out our only player that was scoring goals because the deal to sell him wasn't sorted before the transfer window closed. We have a special dispensation to sign one player for every two that leave. These players have not been signed. Our squad isn't big enough. Our defence isn't good enough. We recently played a cup game without a striker as we didn't have a fit one to play. Yet some seem to be happy to let more players go when there are no signs that they will be replaced. We recently went on a losing streak when we had a few injuries. We lost to teams near the bottom of the table. We wouldn't even be in the top 6 even if we hadn't lost 10 points.

It isn't how much an offer is it is for who, sell either of Leon Clarke, Callum Wilson, Joe Murphy, Connor Thomas or Robert Fleck and our decent but modest season will peter out and they are the only ones who could attract decent bids. We have Waggot signings Barton, cost £100k and Mansat but either won't attract much if any fee. Carl Baker imo is the most expendable but wouldn't see much more than £200k for him. I fear we may have a very different team come Febuary

The lease will be gone once LTD has been liquidated and they pay ACL the money that the FL said they had to if they wanted to keep the golden share. The rental agreement still stands until liquidation is completed.

We all know that Grendull. We also know that with your facts that ACL/CCC are to blame for about everything. The question is what is the holdup? Appleton?

You won't because it is something you can't blame on ACL/CCC.

I want it over with so the embargo is lifted. Or shall we keep it going until next season so we lose another 10 points? You could blame ACL again so yes I see your point.

Two different issues. Yes, we all know players always have to be sold at this level. Understood.

However, SISU assured the FL that they had funds in place to cover any downturn in incomes associated with the move for many years. Citing poor crowds as the reason to sell, barely six months after making those assurances would be a stark about turn.

Read the Telegraph interview with the FL chairman if you want to be clear as to what was said. Then come back here and debate again

Sorry, MMM, I didn't hear the Waggott interview. Did he say that players will be going due to the downturn in crowds? If so then yes, bad board. If not then your attempt to condescend me is purely based on an assumption you and others on this thread have made.

If he didn't say it was due to the downturn, how have people jumped to that conclusion? We still need players in and there are still a few who clearly do not fit Pressley's mentality so, it's fine for them to go. Judging by the amount of trialists we've had and the reluctance to use the loan market, we will be signing players. I'd rather go by the "sign the right person or no one at all" than the "Ah crap, it's January - there's a basket to put all my eggs into - quick buy it BUY IT!!" mentality of old.

"We'll fund the losses" does not mean "everything stays exactly the same" does it. That leads to stagnation. We know there's room for improvement in the squad, Pressley knows it, the board know it. They also know that, despite a spiteful 10pt deduction we are a good run away from the play offs and out of this God forsaken league.

Join the dots, then come back here and debate again.

Our current owners sell players have done virtually from the day they arrived. I can't understand the surprise. Having said that Third division clubs sell their best players to higher division clubs always have and we are a mid-table Third division club.

Steve Waggot is employed to buy and sell players and is probably paid on any profit he brings in to the business. So lets not act so surprised when he talks about selling.
