I suppose it's because he was brought in as the man with the footballing kudos whereas Fisher was brought in to make business decisions like attempting to effect ACL's bankruptcy. Malaga and Edge signed on 3 year contracts-the former couldn't even hack it at Nuneaton whereas the latter was released by Bury. Yes Thorn may have wanted them but with supposed know-how Waggott could have put a halt on the conveyor belt.

Then you have him being the face of the negotiations which brought an end to our exile in Northampton, and I suspect that has more to do with it as it's recent and significant. How much role he actually had in persuading Joy to admit defeat (and let's not forget for a second that it's she who calls the shots) is unclear and I doubt we'll know for the foreseeable.

Just what I was thinking.

Would make great reading though..

Tbh, sick to the back teeth with the "I know more than you". If you have something to say, then say it. If not, then shut the fuck up. Then again what else should we expect from the king attention seeker.

So we are going to hear from you when you have something worthwhile to say? ;)

I really do not want to sound like Rupert Bear here but what has waggot done to get so much popularity on here?

He and Fisher look to me the classic good cop bad cop pairing. They came as a package and still are.

His first decision was to sanction a new contract for thorn. Stupid decision. Second was to sign a host of dross players of which only fleck still plays and all others but Barton have gone.

Now he seems to have engineered a position so he is the main centre of influence at the club.

Most seem really happy with this. Why? What has he done that's warranted the plaudits?

On the football side he seems a bit hit miss. Management selection is now better but is that down to him?

Mr Coventry? No. Mr sisu? Yes.

I must be ill, am actually finding myself agreeing with you Grendel.

Waggot's not Fisher. Seems as simple as that.

For me, it seems like Sisu have just done a sideways shift within a group of people all singing from exactly the same hymn sheet and as you say, the good cop has come to the fore.

All he appears to be is a slightly less unnacceptable figure and like at a political rally is just saying whatever the corwd want to hear to appease them and get them onboard.

Guess people were desperately looking for a knight in shining armour for all this return saga and he just happens to be the face the owners have put forwards.

CCFC Finance Director
Have to largely agree with Grendel ......

seems to me that a simple change in title is being portrayed as a sea change in policy............ there is no change in objective here. Just use of positive PR to hide behind and to deflect attention.

SW comes over as a decent enough bloke from the comments many have made and was when I met him. Is he any more gifted than many football directors or scouts - probably not, like most his record is hit or miss. He is the, for now, friendly face of the owners Board of Directors. But as director he has been fully involved in what has gone on and shares legally (morally?) joint and several liability for the Boards actions since his appointment in August 2013, (surely he must have known what was going on before that too and agreed to it?). Right now SW is on a "honeymoon" period boosted by the return to the Ricoh..... it wont last, such periods never do.

The purpose of the SW/TF title changes is to try to portray some sort of separation between CCFC and SISU. Fans are rightly most concerned about what is on the pitch and will focus on that. This cosmetic change points fans attention to that through " a good football bloke". The club have done a "rent as you go" deal to come home and it suits a lot of sides to laud SW for this achievement. Reality is behind the scenes nothing much has changed.

One question - who had and still has final say so on any deal (on or off the field)?
