Godden, because at least we've seen enough of him to know just how mental an idea it is without any doubt whatsoever!

Maybe, the idea of Tavares there when he has to take instructions on where to be when playing his 'natural' position is interesting though to say the least!

Yeah, to be clear I'm not suggesting it's in any way sane to have a very raw striker who struggles with his vision and control as your playmaker ;) but... at least he's just had cameos now and again, so you can indulge the fantasy he shows something else in training!

We have to find an alternative to O'Hare at No10 in the short term and eventually in the long term.

Callum O'Hare brings his own style and skill set and very good they are too. But he doesn't define the No10 role either.

Whoever we play there we should let them bring their own strengths and judge them on that - rather than expecting a carbon copy of O'Hare.

tbf we are judging Godden and Tavares on their own strengths...

They certainly wouldn't be a carbon copy of O'Hare in that role!

was kinda thinking the same regards Tavares playing the O'hare role, or let godden play there and Tavares alongside vik, but i do feel Tav could play there
Neither Godden or Tavares could play the role O'Hare does

tbf I was thinking more Palmer if and when he gets up to speed? He wont have O"Hares relentless energy but if he can get into pockets of space and score a few goals and get assists it might be an acceptable trade off? But we may have to endure a few lack lustre performances by O'Hare's standards to get there. But that could be the case with whoever not just Palmer?

One of O’Hares best attributes is his close control in those little pockets of space between the lines.

Tavares’ worst attribute is his close control. Often his first touch balloons away from him. He can get away with it out wide but not playing as a 10.

This is Dabo at CM all over again

Opening the possibilities up a bit. I don't think we should cultivate the mindset that we can't function or win without O"Hare. I just think the game plan will need tweeking but not insurmountable.
