Waiting for another 6,000 tickets. (1 Viewer)

My mate has just returned from the Club shop and was told that yes all the general sale tickets were sold out and that they were waiting on police approval to release another 6,000.
The figures seem to make sense when you think that 15000 have been sold on general sale plus 2200 renewed season tickets with a further 4000 yet to renew. The away area is one designed for a 4000 following plus an area of no mans land in between them and home fans. That totals up to 31,200 tickets plus the no mans land area. Sounds about right to me. I know Gillingham won't bring 4000 but the fact is that is the away area capacity.
So just waiting for police approval for another 6,000.

I can confirm that is correct. I'm standing in the queue now praying that the 6,000 tickets become available in the next hour!! ;-) There a lot of people here doing the same. TBF all I actually want is my customer reference number so at least a I can get online. Then book tickets when they become available. There's already been some shouting!!

Can't you just create a new account? That's how I did it as I had no joy with password reminders

Haha. I'm a fool. I did a new account for my wife. At the time the system was crashing so I logged out but didn't write down the number thinking as I had just registered it would be emailed to me! It wasn't!! Went back in and they needed the reference number! Doh! Bit farcical but my own fault I suppose.

If I get any joy with regards tickets I'll let people know. But I imagine it will be tomorrow when everyone is back at work!! ;-)

If you forget your supporter number, you try to reregister, put in your name and email and the system finds you
and gives you your old supporter number .

They might need to do something about the 4,000 who haven't renewed yet if there's no other tickets available. Say they have until Tuesday to claim their seat or it will be released for sale for the first game.

I had season tickets in the Telegraph stand.

Given that we were told that it would be closed, I bought other tickets for Friday's game.

I emailed the club this morning to ask them to put my "old seats" on general sale and have already had a reply from the club confirming that they would.

Could I just encourage anyone else in the same position to email the club at [email protected] and let them know - get a few more seats on sale!

This will all pan out, there is no more a security problem than the Crewe game. The only stumbling block might be the Police asking for too much money ? Which if is the case, is a disgrace !

Even without knowing the facts?

Football clubs don't ever seem to pay the full cost. A lot of the cost comes out of the budget they were set. And there might not be a budget for us to play at home as we looked to be playing in Northampton. Tim is busy trying to negotiate the police bill down whilst we await them to open the stand.

Are clubs charged depending on the attendance? Are there step changes in the cost, and is there one for over 17k?

Just posted on the other ticket thread but thought this might be useful info for someone.

I have just bought 2 tickets for the North Stand Block 28 on line. The seats were my old season ticket seats but after being told the stand would be shut i relocated elsewhere. I simply used my customer number and it offered me the seats i used to have. They are clearly just waiting for the season ticket holders in the North stand to buy, which seems madness to not offer the other seats not originally season tickets for general sale.

Customer numbers are printed onto all tickets if you have any old ones to refer to?

All you need to do is go in to the shop as a normal shopper. Then pull one of the assistants to one side and tell them you have forgotten your logon number. I did this Friday. Very helpful. You could also email the enquiries address.

Ok, so I've come out with Season Tickets for all the family!! My Season tickets in Block 33 were already gone for the Gills game so I was given tickets in block 34 for this as part of my season ticket.

Well if you buy a season ticket, you'll get a ticket for the Gills game. It's a rather expensive way of doing it though!! My empty bank balance will vouch for this!!

Did you not ask if you could have your season ticket seats in the North Stand?

That's all irrelevant. If we had progressed in the league cup and drawn Man U at home, do you think they would have closed the south stand to away fans? Of course not, United would have got the full allocation, and the rest of the ground would have been full - just like Chelsea and other high profile games (and that would have been a MUCH harder fixture to police than gillingham at home in the league).

The issue is entirely down to the police having a bee in their bonnet about the south stand being shared between home and away. It took them a while to give approval for the Crewe game, and it is why the club were told to stop selling season tickets there last week long before the game looked like it might be a sell out.

What I don't get is why sharing the south stand makes a difference compared to away having the whole end? The stadium is a bowl.
