That's weird opinion about Dabo.
Defended OK yesterday, was always an out ball, got in some good positions but his delivery was poor.
He also needs to learn a new trick to mix up his stepover a bit when trying to get past a man.

Why are penalties not goals you still have to score them. Seen many missed by world class players.

Of course they’re goals, but surely it’s reasonable to suggest if you are the penalty taker you’re going to get a disproportionate amount of goals because of them? If Hyam took pens, and scored regularly, would fans want him up front? It’s not a stick to beat Godden with, he’s the first pen taker we’ve had in a long time who gives me confidence. But given five pens a season I could score a couple, I wouldn’t score one from open play.

We defend from the front, it means the front 3 need to press and work hard when we don’t have the ball.
Look how hard Man City work when they lose the ball.
I know some of you think good players don’t have to run around ( headless chickens seems to be the favourite term). But the simple fact is that in our system they do.
Walker obviously doesn’t work hard enough for Robins.
I watched him when he came on yesterday, if he hadn’t got the ball he wasn’t interested. He had 25 minutes to impress, he walked off fresher than when he came on.
I like the kid and there is definitely a player in there, but he has got a apply himself better.

It’s actually quite sad. He’s got totally out of his depth on the subject so decided to waft a suggestion that I’m racist. If it wasn’t so fucking desperate it’d actually be funny.

I‘ve spent years helping a close personal friend (the 4th black player to wear the England shirt) fight against racism. He was the catalyst behind the Rooney Rule coming to football in the UK.

I understand that but the top 4 goal scorers in the championsip last season all took penalties.

That’s right. Look how Gyok pressed back first half and won the ball tracking back to midfield. Better to have at least two forwards in the squad who can niggle, annoy, chase. See how Kazim R came on and just barged Maatsen off the ball on the touch line (knowing IM had been booked and might retaliate). Big strong striker against tiring defenders turned the game. We don’t have that option on the bench.

I’m bored of going on about it. Need a big striker in the development squad.

At that point we needed Waghorn for the workrate at that specific moment In time, Godden and Walker too similar with no press effectively taking two players out if the game when we needed it most.

Could not have said that better. Walker until he learns from the others that you need to work harder off the ball will be no more than a squad player.
I love robins and would never question him as a manager but I’m not the only one recently saying that substitutions are a bit questionable at times.

The whole team looked flagging. We were tactically out done 2 games in a row

Seen the last three matches Walker has played bit of an enigma scored two cracking goals at Blackburn and Preston but offered little else
In my opinion the movement of Matty Godden off the ball makes him the better player for us the way we move the ball around.
I don’t think that’s fair. He looked up for it when he came on. Goals are also really important

Robins obviously sees something you don’t and maybe we haven’t seen a fit godden till now

it seems odd to have a 3 year contract - which it is - on someone already 30

I like Godden but if we’re looking to progress to the next level then he’s not the answer other than as back-up.

I posted very much the same yesterday, but skybluefaz told me it was utter bollocks, Wait till he sees this, he'll have a feckin stroke, cos Walker is his fave by the sound of it.

Love that godden is the new biamou 🤣

Tragic and also massively clueless

don’t think anyone is actually criticising him

Let's be honest , this is how it begins 🤣

We can buy his replacement with the money from walker's championship move, which obviously will be an inflated figure after the clamour

no Godden is fine but of course Walker would attract more interest - top scorer last season two in two this season younger and a good pedigree through the leagues.

Unfortunately fans tend not to like players like him. So he will be moved on and there certainly will be interest

Peterborough? I think they tried to sign him before
